  • The NFL injury reports and inactives are revealing that both the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers are missing vital offensive performers for the Week 14 TNF game
  • Steelers QB1 Kenny Pickett is out after undergoing ankle surgery
  • Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson is also out with an ankle issue

As bad as things are going of late for both the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots, the Patriots vs Steelers injury reports and inactives are offering indications that it’s going to get worse.

Two teams that are dreadful offensively will both be without vital offensive performers for this game.

Losers of five in a row, New England will be taking the field minus RB Rhamondre Stevenson, the club’s leading rusher. He’s out with an ankle injury. Meanwhile, after undergoing tightrope surgery to deal with a high ankle sprain, Pittsburgh QB1 Kenny Pickett is out as well.

Pittsburgh is the 6-point home chalk over New England in the Patriots vs Steelers odds. The Patriots are 0-5 straight up and against the spread over their past five games.

So far in the Patriots vs Steelers public betting splits, Pittsburgh is getting 65% of ATS handle and 92% of moneyline bets.

Woeful Patriots Offense Will Miss Stevenson

Already dead last in the NFL in both total offense and scoring offense, the Patriots can ill-afford to be without Stevenson. He’s leading the team in rushing (619 yards), receptions (38) and touches (194) and shares the club lead in touchdowns (four).

Demario Douglas, leading the Patriots with 410 receiving yards, is also out due to a concussion. Illness is keeping reserve CB Shaun Wade out.

Starting LT Trent Brown (ankle) and backup nose tackle Christian Barmore (shoulder) have been limited in practice.

Steelers Harris In Danger of Missing First Game

While it will be Mitch Trubisky at QB in place of the injured Pickett, there’s still questions in the Patriots vs Steelers picks as to whether Trubisky will be handing the ball off to RB Najee Harris. He’s missed practice all week with a knee injury. Listed as questionable, Harris has never missed a game during his NFL career. The latest word is that he’s expected to play.

Center Mason Cole (neck) and LB Elandon Roberts (groin) were limited in practice this week and are showing as questionable. Guard Isaac Seumalo (shoulder), who’s played just three games all season long, was unable to practice.

How Could Injuries Affect Patriots vs Steelers Betting Lines?

Certainly, the key injuries for both club’s offenses is going to be affecting how you approach wagering on the Patriots vs Steelers player props.

Minus Stevenson, two-time NFL rushing champion Ezekiel Elliott figures to carry the ball more. He finished last week with a season-high 17 carries after Stevenson was idled.

For the Steelers, look for RB Jaylen Warren to get more work even if Harris does suit up. He’s been trending upward of late, with 10+ carries in three of Pittsburgh’s past five games.

New England is also dealing with depth issues at WR. Along with Douglas, Kendrick Bourne, who’s caught a team-high four TD passes, is on IR. Kayson Boutte (shoulder) is also out as is Tre Nixon. DeVante Parker (knee) and former Steeler JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle) are carrying injury designations of questionable. Both were limited in practice this week.

Two key Patriots defensive starters – LB Matthew Judon (biceps) and CB Christian Gonzalez (shoulder) – are on IR.
