  • The Pittsburgh Steelers vs Indianapolis Colts inactive and injury reports for Monday Night Football are showing Indianapolis DE Kwity Paye (ankle) is out
  • Colts TE Kylen Granson (illness) is listed as doubtful
  • Steelers LCB Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) has been ruled out for this game in the Steelers vs Colts injury report

It’s been a painful NFL season for both the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-7, 4-5-1 ATS) and Indianapolis Colts (4-6-1, 5-6 ATS). The Colts fired coach Frank Reich, replacing him with Jeff Saturday. Two more losses and Steelers coach Mike Tomlin will be assured of his first losing campaign as an NFL head coach.

While licking their wounds, both teams are also dealing with walking wounded as they prepare for their Week 12 MNF showdown. For the Colts, LDE Kwity Paye (ankle) is out and three other defensive starters are listed as questionable. Pittsburgh will be playing without starting LCB Ahkello Witherspoon due to a hamstring issue.

Colts Slight Favorites at Home

Pittsburgh Steelers Injury Report

For all their struggles this season, the Steelers are relatively healthy. Witherspoon is the only starter on either side of the football with an injury designation. He was hurt after getting tangled up with Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper during a Week 3 game.

Witherspoon will be missing his seventh game in the past eight. He figured in 53% of Pittsburgh’s defensive snaps during the Steelers’ Week 8 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kicker Chris Boswell will be missing his fourth successive game. He’s on IR with a groin injury.

Further down the depth chart, rookie running back Jaylen Warren (hamstring) is out. WR Myles Boykin (oblique) is questionable. Backup LILB Robert Spillane (back) is also questionable.

Indianapolis Colts Injury Report

A nagging ankle injury will put Paye on the sideline for the second week in a row and for the fifth game this season. In seven games during the 2022 campaign, the Colts’ LDE has accounted for 24 tackles and four sacks.

There’s a lot of concern along the Indianapolis defensive front. RDE Yannick Ngakoue (back) is questionable, as is LDT DeForest Buckner (ribs/illness).

The Colts are already without Pro Bowl MLB Shaquille Leonard, who’s on IR after undergoing back surgery. They are unsure about the status of SLB Zaire Franklin. He’s battling an illness and is listed as questionable.

On offense, TE Kylen Granson is also questionable due to illness.

How Could Injuries Affect Steelers vs Colts Lines?

Without Warren, bettors might want to be playing the over on carries by Steelers RB Najee Harris in the Steelers vs Colts player props. Last week after Warren was suffering his injury in the first half of Pittsburgh’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Harris went on to play 67 of the Steeler’s 73 offensive snaps.

Minus Witherspoon, both Arthur Maulet (six starts) and Levi Wallace (five starts) have seen significant playing time at CB for Pittsburgh this season. Pittsburgh ranks 32nd overall in pass defense, allowing 272.1 yards per game.

The Steelers stuck with kicker Matthew Wright after he missed two-of-four field goals against New Orleans in his first game as Boswell’s replacement. Last week, Wright was three-for-three on field goals against the Bengals.

With Paye out and Ngakoue questionable, look for both Dayo Odeyingbo and Ifeadi Odenigbo to see plenty of action at DE. Odeyingbo was a starter in last week’s loss to Philadelphia. He saw action on 68% of the Colts’ defensive snaps. Odeyingbo finished with three tackles and a quarterback hit. He played 60% of snaps the previous week against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Buckner didn’t practice Thursday or Friday but was a full participant on Saturday. It’s been a rough ride for him in 2022. Buckner has endured through hip, elbow, shoulder, thumb, and neck ailments prior to the current issues with ribs and illness.

Without Granson, there’s a chance TE Jelani Woods will be given an activation from IR. He’s been out since Week 9 due to a shoulder injury. Woods has fully participated in practice this week.
