The Cleveland Browns (1-1, 1-1 ATS) don’t do well with prosperity and that’s not a good thing when facing the Tennessee Titans (1-1, 2-0 ATS). Since Mike Vrabel was named head coach of Tennessee in 2018, no NFL team has proven to be a more dangerous foe as an underdog. And that’s exactly where Vrabel and the Titans sit this week in the Titans vs Browns odds.

Tennessee has won outright an NFL-leading 23 games as a betting underdog with Vrabel in charge. And the Titans are coming to Cleveland as 3.5-point underdogs in the Tennessee vs Cleveland odds. Tennessee is 3-1-1 ATS in the five games when kicking off as the underdog.

Let’s look deeper into the possible Titans vs Browns picks and offer you our prediction for this NFL Week 3 showdown.

Tennessee vs Cleveland Betting Splits

In the NFL public betting splits, there’s solidarity on the spread and division with the moneyline. In the public spread splits, 88% of handle and 61% of bets are going with the Titans. Tennessee is 0-5 ATS in the last five games against an AFC North opponent. In the moneyline splits, Tennessee is also drawing 72% of handle at +160. However, the favored Browns at -160 are grabbing 51% of bets. Tennessee is 1-8 SU over the past nine games.

On the total of 39.5 points, it’s the over getting the action. It’s garnering 56% of handle and 91% of bets. The total has gone under in seven of Cleveland’s last nine games.

With last week’s season-ending injury to RB Nick Chubb, Cleveland’s Super Bowl 58 odds lengthened from +1800 to +3300. The Titans are set with a number of 8.5 in the NFL win totals. Over is at odds of +120, while the under draws a betting line of -150.

Titans vs Browns Injury Report

Chubb’s departure with a season-ending knee injury was a crushing blow to the Browns. He’d gained over 1,000 yards on the ground in each of the past four seasons. Cleveland RCB Greg Newsome (elbow) is also out. WR Amari Cooper (groin/shoulder), LT Jedrick Wills Jr (shoulder), RDE Za’Darius Smith (ankle/thigh), MLB Anthony Walker Jr (pectoral) and SLB Sione Takitaki (shoulder) are all questionable for the Browns.

For the Titans, RB Derrick Henry (toe), WR DeAndre Hopkins (ankle), LG Peter Skoronski (abdomen), NT Tear Tart (knee), RDE Denico Autry (foot), WLB Harold Landry III (hamstring) and S Amani Hooker (concussion) are all questionable.

Kareem Back In Hunt for Cleveland

Losing All-Pro Chubb, Cleveland is turning to a familiar face to try and help fill the void. Free agent RB Kareem Hunt was signed. Playing for the Browns from 2019-22, Hunt rushed for 16 touchdowns and also caught seven TD passes. He’ll be activated for Sunday’s game.

However, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski is indicating that second-year RB Jerome Ford will remain Cleveland’s feature back. Ford gained 106 yards on 16 carries for a 6.6 yards per carry average in the Week 2 loss at Pittsburgh.

Titans Getting Healthy

Looking at the Tennessee injury list, it might give a Titans backer pause to shudder. Not to worry, though. Tennessee is actually getting healthier by the minute.

Both Hooker and CB Kristian Fulton are trending toward returning to their starting roles in the secondary. And the Titans pass rush should feast against Cleveland QB Deshaun Watson, notorious for hanging on to the ball too long while in the pocket.

Tennessee vs Cleveland Prediction

Minus Chubb, it’s going to be Watson who is going to be counted on to overcome the Titans, and relying on Deshaun so far isn’t providing Cleveland with many happy endings. He’s thrown for nine TDs against seven picks in eight games as QB1. The Browns offense gave up two TDs in their loss at Pittsburgh.

This is setting up to be just the type of game that Vrabel and the Titans traditionally steal during the course of an NFL season.
