The Dallas Stars won three straight games to close out the Minnesota series in Round 1. Just when it looked like they would have a little easier time against Seattle, the Kraken tossed out an octopus err surprise.

Seattle rode the wave of goals to a 4-2 lead after 20 minutes, held on for dear life to force overtime, then delivered a surprise blow to take Game 1 and home-ice advantage.

Online sportsbooks pick Dallas as bigger favorites in Thursday night’s NHL odds, and are ripe for series picking now.

Kraken vs Stars Early Betting Splits

So, Dallas bounced back even after the Game 1 numbers took a tumble. That includes a 63.5% win probability and a majority of the betting handle when it comes to NHL betting trends. Bettors believe in Dallas going into Game 2.

As of Wednesday evening, 82% of the moneyline bets are backing the Stars, while the over still is around 70%. Expect a few shifts between now and Thursday night as models favor the Kraken, especially for the ATS.

Seattle vs Dallas NHL Betting News

The Stars are fortunate to be in pretty good shape. Joe Pavelski returned and let’s just say he looks healthy. Four goals and his presence alone almost guided Dallas to an opening win.

As always, watch for nagging bumps and bruises between the lines.

Andre Burakovsky is out as well as Jared McCann, who did not travel to Dallas. Dave Hakstol did not commit whether McCann would even play in the series.

Dallas lengthened a little bit for the Stanley Cup odds at +700 while Seattle is now +1400.

Kraken vs Stars Analysis

One of the biggest things in Game 1 was simply Seattle took advantage of Dallas and their sloppy play. Five different goal scorers reflected the overall balance of a team who prided itself on balance all season. Seattle went up 4-2 after 20 minutes as five of the goals were scored in around a five-minute time period late in the first.

Yet again, Seattle tried to hold on against a team riding the positive side of score effects. Though the Kraken had to go to overtime, Yanni Gourde delivered in the clutch. The two problems Seattle had were with the Dallas speed and Joe Pavelski.

If that happens again Thursday night, Seattle may be in trouble.

Honestly, when the top-six and defense get involved together, Dallas is the better team. Despite that, Seattle finds ways to hang around in games. Their offense averaged 3.52 goals per game during the season which ranked fourth in the league.

So, can Dallas figure out to win at home against Seattle?

Seattle still has zero pressure, but are they content with only a split?

Kraken vs Stars Prediction

The season series featured some crazy twists and turns. Remember, Dallas played Seattle in Seattle twice in one week. It was part of a stretch where the Stars and Kraken played three times in ten days. Since that happened only about six weeks ago, at least there is a familiarity in playing “playoff-like hockey.”

Dallas showed that it can easily solve Philipp Grubauer, but can they sure up the rest of their defense? Most believe Dallas played its worst game of the series on Tuesday night.

Kraken vs Stars Game 2 Same-Game Parlay

Pick Odds
Over 5.5 Goals +110
Dallas 3-Way 1st Period +135
Same-Game Parlay Odds +295

Again, Dallas is the team capable of scoring in bunches. The Stars also have the edge in goaltending, unlike the last series where Grubauer had extra motivation. Game 2 could feel like deja-vu for Seattle.

Pick: Same-Game Parlay (+295)
