Dallas Favored in Round 2 Series Odds
Dallas is favored to defeat Seattle in Round 2 in the Stars vs Kraken series odds. Peter Deboer’s squad was stingy in round 1 against the Wild, allowing just 2.33 goals per game, which was second-best in the NHL playoffs.
The Stars are led by sterling netminder Jake Oettinger. He was a top-five candidate in the Vezina Trophy odds for a reason, and he displayed that in the postseason. Dallas’ keeper had a .929 save percentage in Round 1, which was second-best among goalies with at least five starts.

Unheralded Roope Hintz was lights out in the first round against the Minnesota Wild. He racked up five goals and seven assists for twelve points. Nobody else in the postseason has as many points as him. Teammate Jason Robertson had seven points, while Tyler Seguin and Miro Heiskanen had six each.

Seattle became the first franchise to earn their first playoff series victory versus the reigning Stanley Cup champions. Many fans had their NHL playoff bracket busted, as they expected Seattle to lose. They also became just the second squad ever to score first in all seven games of a series (joining the 2004 Maple Leafs).
Seattle had an offense-by-committee approach against Colorado, with five players registering at least four points, led by Yanni Gourde’s six. Goaltender Philipp Grubauer’s .926 save percentage was exceptional in beating his former team in Colorado.

Stars vs Kraken Series Pick & Prediction
Dallas vs Kraken should be a physical, grind-it-out series as Seattle put the NHL on notice that they’re a tough out, despite only playing for two seasons. Dallas was a solid 22-10-9 on home ice this year, where they start the first two games of this series. The Kraken, however, were one of the best road squads in the NHL, going 26-11-4. Three of their four victories against Colorado came away from home.

2-0-1 | Head-To-Head | 1-1-1 |
47-21-14 (108 points) | NHL Regular Season Record | 46-28-8 (100 points) |
3.50 (6th) | Playoff Goals For/GP | 2.57 (13th) |
2.33 (2nd) | Playoff Goals Against/GP | 2.71 (6th) |
37.5% (4th) | Playoff Power Play | 14.3% (14th) |
81.8% (4th) | Playoff Penalty Kill | 88.9% (2nd) |
Seattle was a very nice story defeating the defending Stanley Cup champs, though Colorado was hobbling with injuries. Dallas is lethal defensively, ranking second-best in goals allowed in the playoffs and third in the regular season. They also have more elite talent up front, and Oettinger is a stronger goalie than Grubauer.
