NHL Odds, Lines and Picks for All 5 Games Today – Oct. 13th
- The second night of the NHL season sees action ongoing on five fronts
- The reigning Stanley Cup finalist Montreal Canadiens are +144 road underdogs as they face the Toronto Maple Leafs
- In Colorado, the NHL odds show the Avalanche as the -215 home favorites as they play host to the Chicago Blackhawks
As the NHL enters Day 2 of the regular season, there are some familiar-looking scenarios among the five games on the docket. The Toronto Maple Leafs open at home against the Montreal Canadiens in the same rink where Toronto’s NHL playoff odds went kaput against the Habs in Game 7 of the opening round of last spring’s postseason. The Leafs are -172 favorites in the NHL odds at FanDuel against Montreal.
The Colorado Avalanche, Stanley Cup favorites, begin their season playing host to the Chicago Blackhawks. They’ll be facing the same goalie who put the Avs out of the playoffs last season. That would be Chicago netminder Marc-Andre Fleury, acquired in an offseason deal by the Blackhawks from the Vegas Golden Knights. The Avalanche are the biggest favorite of the day in the NHL betting lines at -215.
Let’s take a look at the NHL odds for all five games on Tuesday, October 13th, 2021.

As well, captain Johnathan Toews is back after missing all of last season with a rare ailment, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS).

There’s also been plenty of change in Colorado, Vezina Trophy finalist Philippe Grubauer left as a UFA for the Seattle Kraken. He’s been replaced by Darcy Kuemper. Forwards Brandon Saad, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, and Joonas Donskoi and defenseman Ryan Graves are all gone. The only additions of note were veteran checking forward Darren Helm and journeyman defenseman Jack Johnson.

Fleury will be fired up to get off to a good start with his new club and show Vegas they discarded the wrong netminder. Play the upset here in the NHL betting lines.

Jets’ NHL Betting Value in Season Opener
It’s possible that the Winnipeg Jets are flying under the radar when it comes to the NHL predictions. Winnipeg’s top-six forwards match up favorably with any team. Connor Hellebuyck is a Vezina winner between the pipes. The Jets also beefed up their blueline corps with the offseason additions of Nate Schmidt and Brenden Dillon.
