To no one’s surprise, the Ottawa Senators have the worst 2020 Stanley Cup odds. The Sens’ roster is in shambles with no first round pick this year and a roster that didn’t produce last season. If Ottawa wants to win the Stanley Cup next season they will need to revamp their entire roster. But, it appears that won’t happen, so is there any value on the Sens?

Ducks a Worthy Longshot

The Ottawa Senators have the worst odds to win the cup, and frankly, even at +30000 it still makes little to no sense to bet on them. The team needs a ton of work, and in a really good Atlantic Division, it would be a shocking surprise if they even made the playoffs.

The Anaheim Ducks have two first round picks and nearly $10 million in cap room to spend this offseason.

But, there is a team at +8000 odds that I think there is some value on, and that is the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks had an okay roster last season and with a ton of returning players that include the likes of Ondrej Kase, Rickard Rakell, Adam Henrique, Cam Fowler, Hampus Lindholm, and goalie John Gibson they have a solid core. Add in two first round picks and nearly $10 million in cap room to spend this offseason, and this Ducks team could be a surprise contender.

Ducks Will Look to Replicate Blues’ Blueprint

Last season, Corey Perry was hurt for most of the season which hurt the offense and defense, as Perry is a solid two-way player. Meanwhile, John Gibson had a good season with a goals against average of 2.84 and a 9.17 save percentage.

Add in the fact they got some solid starts by Ryan Miller, and have prospects that could join the roster and a bevy of returning players and the Ducks could very well be a team in the playoffs and have the best longshot odds to hoist the Stanley Cup.

In the end, it is unlikely Anaheim does win the cup, but at +8000 I believe there is a tremendous value as even this year, the Blues were dead last in January and ended up winning the cup. Anything can happen come playoff time, and all you have to do is make it there. With a strong season from Gibson and staying healthy, the Ducks could very well be back playing playoff hockey next season.

Pick: Anaheim Ducks (+8000)
