The Dallas Stars stumbled in Game 1 in overtime against the Seattle Kraken to open their second-round series. If this feels familiar, the Stars did the same thing in Round 1 versus Minnesota.
Seattle managed to get a split in Dallas, but that was the best the Kraken could do. Dallas went ahead 2-0 early on the strength of Wyatt Johnston. Seattle could not get close enough as Dallas went on to win Game 2 by a score of 4-2.
Online sportsbooks like Dallas as road favorites in Sunday night’s NHL odds, and are a solid series pick.

Seattle vs Dallas NHL Betting News
For the most part, Dallas remains healthy which is great news. Joe Pavelski added another goal in Game 2. His power-play tally proved to be the game-winning goal.

Andre Burakovsky is out as well as Jared McCann. However, McCann practiced yesterday in a red non-contact jersey. This leads to speculation he may be available come Game 4 or later in the series.
Dallas shortened a little more in the Stanley Cup odds at +550 while Seattle is now +1600.
Stars vs Kraken Analysis
The biggest difference between Games 1 and 2 was how Dallas controlled play in Game 2. Seattle played like a lot of the road teams in Game 1. There was no pressure and few mistakes. Dallas forced the Kraken’s hand on Thursday night.
With Wyatt Johnston and Joe Pavelski leading the way, Dallas would not be denied in tying the series. Dallas had 16 of the 20 high-danger scoring chances in the game with even-strength expected goals at a whopping 3.46-0.87 (80-20 share). Possession may have been more even but Dallas controlled actual opportunities.
If Seattle cannot reverse that on Sunday night, they are in a spot of bother.

Bluntly, the key for Seattle is forcing turnovers. When they do not do that so well, Dallas controls play. After that, Dallas starts to roll its lines. Seattle cannot quite match that speed and depth. The snowball rolled and by the time Seattle catches up, it’s too late. That is what happened in March in Seattle.
So, can Seattle finally win a home game against Dallas?

Stars vs Kraken Prediction
The playoff series has been interesting, to say the least. Fortunately, this may be a series with a long shelf life. Consistently, Dallas showed it can score goals against Seattle (13 in the regular season and eight more in the postseason). Can Seattle stem the tide enough to let its offense find the flow again?
Philipp Grubauer must play better in goal but the Seattle defense in front of him must too. Some believe Seattle is capable of bouncing back in Game 3.
