Juventus (-450) vs. Palermo (+1400) (Draw +450)

Juventus had an amazing start to the 2014-15 season. However, last week was terrible for the Bianconeri, as they claimed just one of the six points on the line in their Serie A and Champions League games. On Sunday, October 26, they host Palermo in the eighth fixture of the Calcio looking bounce back (8:00 a.m. Eastern).

In the head-to-head history, the teams have met 16 times and the series is pretty even; Juventus has won eight times, Palermo seven, and one game ended in a draw. Juve are the heavy favorites to win this match, though, listed at -450 in the moneyline; a Palermo victory is +1400 and the draw is +450.

After losing against Olympiacos (1-0) in the Champions League, Juventus’ Argentinian striker, Carlos Tevez, said his team must forget the loss in Greece and prepare for the next games.

“We have to turn over a new leaf and find something within ourselves,” said Tevez. “We must remember that we are Juventus. We certainly didn’t come here to lose.”

Juventus is currently on the top of Serie A with 19 points (6W, 1D, 0L) and a +11 goal difference. On the other side, Palermo is 16th (of 20 teams) with six points (1W, 3D, 3L) and a -7 differential, which is second worst in Serie A. In its last game, Palermo defeated Cesena – another Serie A basement dweller – 2-1 for its first win of the season.

Juventus has dominated Italy’s domestic league and also the recent history against Palermo (Juve has won the last four games in the series without conceding a goal). Look for Juventus to bounce back with a win against Palermo this Sunday.
