Inter’s domestic form under new coach Conte has been impressive in this campaign. After 11 games, they were in second place in Italy’s Serie A with nine wins, one draw and one defeat.

However, the manager has been complaining that his squad is not strong enough and that his best players are being overworked – suggesting the coach himself does not believe they can revive their fortunes in Europe.
Conte is a notoriously volatile character and his unsettlement so early into his tenure in his new job is disconcerting. Inter will not succeed while such a mood prevails.
They were handed one of the toughest group stage draws in the UCL and made a disappointing start when they drew 1-1 at home against the weakest side in the section, Slavia Prague.
They then lost 2-1 at Barcelona after leading at half-time – as they did in Dortmund last week.
Sole Victory Against Germans
Their only win came when they defeated Dortmund 2-0 at home on Matchday 3 before succumbing in Germany last week.
Dortmund face a tough trip to Barcelona on Matchday 5 which could allow Inter the opportunity to catch up.

But Conte’s side will be away on Matchday 5 against Prague, who earned a goalless draw at Camp Nou in Spain last week.
Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have already booked their place in the last 16 knockout phase with two group fixtures remaining.

They are the only teams to have won all four fixtures so far.

Juventus, too, are already qualified for the next stage.
