The bookies find this one tough to call but have made Napoli slight favorites at +138 in the Serie A odds with an implied win probability of 42%, while Lazio, at +195, has an implied 33.9% chance of a win. The  Over 2.5 goals bet is pitched at -113, while under is also in negative money at -110, so, again, the bookies are unsure how this is going.

If you’re new to this sport and need advice on soccer betting’s pros and cons, there are plenty of directions you can go to betting this match and others.

Five Undefeated for Lazio in League

Lazio is currently sixth in Serie A, on the cusp of the European places, and comes into this game off the back of a run of five undefeated in the league and have kept clean sheets in their last two home games. In their last six Serie A games, they have picked up 11 points from the 18 available.

In midweek, I Biancazzurri drew 2-2 at home to Porto but, as a result, crashed out of the Europa League 4-3 on aggregate, and also drew 1-1 in Serie A last Sunday with Udinese. The performance level against Udinese was a poor one and it took a Felipe Anderson equalizer on the stroke of halftime to earn them a point after falling behind as early as the fifth minute.

Sarri With Injury Problems

Coach Maurizio Sarri has a few injury problems to contend with, with Pedro (ankle), Ciro Immobile (influenza), Patryk Dziczek (heart condition), and Manuel Lazzari (hamstring) all unavailable for Sunday’s match.

Recent meetings between these two have been dominated by the Neapolitans who have won 11 of their last 14 head-to-heads in all competitions, including a 4-0 win in the reverse fixture in November and a 5-2 win last April.

Midweek Disappointment for Napoli

Napoli comes into this game off the back of a run of a seven-game run without defeat and has amassed a total of 14 points in Serie A from the last 18 available. They did however suffer disappointment in midweek when losing 4-2 at home to Barcelona; a result that saw them knocked out of the Europa League after drawing 1-1 in the Camp Nou.

Last weekend, they dropped crucial points in their quest for another Scudetto title when they drew 1-1 away at Cagliari although, in the end, were grateful for a point with Victor Osimhen equalizing with a header three minutes from time. A win would have taken them to the top of the table, so it was an opportunity missed but a point kept them in the title race.

Napoli With the Upper Hand

Luciano Spalletti, like Sarri, also has a few absentees to manage without, with Kévin Malcuit (calf), Lorenzo Insigne (muscle fatigue), Stanislav Lobotka (hamstring), André Zambo Anguissa (groin), and Hirving Lozano (shoulder) all unavailable for the trip to Rome.

Gli Azzurri will head into this with confidence off the back of their good form and fine record against Lazio, who will be hoping to use home advantage to tilt the odds back in their favor.

Lazio vs Napoli Picks

This is a tough one to call given that both teams have momentum and have similar records over the last six games, but Napoli’s incentive is huge given their proximity to the league leaders and having dropped two vital points last weekend. Therefore, with them still in plus money at +138, there is value in the away win.

Picks: Napoli to win (+138)
