Philippe Coutinho Favored for EPL Move With Odds Favoring Tottenham, Liverpool & Arsenal
- As another transfer window draws nearer, it looks like Philippe Coutinho could be on the move again.
- After a dramatically unsuccessful move to Barcelona, followed by an underwhelming loan at Bayern Munich, the Brazilian could seek a move back to the Premier League.
- Among the favorites, find out if we think he’ll land at Tottenham, Liverpool or Chelsea
It seems as though Philippe Coutinho has been the talk of transfer news ever since he arrived at Barcelona from Liverpool in December of 2017. The Catalans paid €160 million for the midfielder known for his creativity and knack to score some really world class goals.
However, it did not take long to realize that Coutinho did not fit in with a side of already great players. His playing time decreased and this led to a loan move to the Bundesliga to play for Bayern Munich.
A few months later, neither club wants him and it looks as though he will be off to the Premier League. There are other possible suitors, such as PSG or Borussia Dortmund, but it is rumored the player wants a move back to England.

Coutinho to takeover North London?
Some of these options do not make logical sense. Manchester United is quite high on the list but Coutinho has already made it clear he does not want any part of a club that has a rivalry with Liverpool. Despite a rocky ending, Coutinho still has many friends on the Liverpool squad and many fans still adore him, so it’s a move he just would not make.

It would make more sense for Coutinho to take his talents to a team in London. It is quite far away from Liverpool and it is a vibrant city that many footballers seek to live in when making a move. Chelsea would not be a terrible destination and they could afford him, but where would he play?
🗣 ex-Barça technical director Robert Fernández on Philippe Coutinho:
"I think he should never leave. He has an extraordinary quality, he scores often, so I never understood why he was loaned, it is only about finding his position on the pitch."

It is a team full of midfielders like Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, Ross Barkely, and even youngster Billy Gilmour. It would not really make sense for the Blues to make a significant investment in that area of the pitch, especially in Coutinho.
Best Bet
Tottenham, however, need a playmaker after losing Christian Eriksen to Inter Milan. They lack threatening midfield depth, and Coutinho might be the transfer Spurs need to get Dele Alli and Harry Kane to stay for the long-term. It would also give him the opportunity to play for Jose Mourinho, and despite his notoriety, he is a coach the best players want to play for.
@FCBarcelona WANT £87M FOR COUTINHO
Barcelona will not sanction the sale of Philippe Coutinho for anything less than €100million (£87m), reports Mundo Deportivo. #barcelona #coutinho #chelsea #leicestercity #tottenham pic.twitter.com/4EpLFl0ke1

Overall, I personally think that Tottenham and Coutinho are a very good match. Coutinho going back to Liverpool is not even a question after their rough break-up two years ago, and Jurgen Klopp would not mess that dressing room up currently. With +400 odds, it is still great value, and has a legitimate chance of taking place in the summer transfer window.
My Pick: Tottenham (+400)
