Could This Be PSG’s Year?
Though always a force in the French Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain have yet to win a Champions League title. Winning Ligue 1 is generally a foregone conclusion each season and building their squad for a run at European glory is the Parisians’ real goal.
Despite heavy investments in the club, PSG were sent packing from the Round of 16 last season by eventual champions Real Madrid. Two seasons ago, they once again were eliminated at this stage despite taking a 4-0 lead over Barcelona in the first leg, as they followed that up with an embarrassing 6-1 defeat in Spain in the second leg.
While PSG have historically struggled against English competition, they are flying high this season.

The French outfit are one of Europe’s best and have yet to taste defeat in Ligue 1 with a 14-2-0 record. They’ve scored 49 goals while only allowing ten and are ten points clear of second-place Lille.
However, their success has been rampant across competitions as they’ve only lost once in 25 matches. Their loan defeat came at the hands of English side Liverpool during Champions League Group Stage play. Still, PSG were able to top their group with a 3-2-1 record and 11 points.
Man U Finally Sack Mourinho
While it’s well-documented that Jose Mourinho’s charm typically wears off during the third year of his managerial terms, it usually comes at least after previous success. Mourinho’s time at United, however, was marred by mediocrity and public spats with media, players and ownership.
A 3-1 defeat to Liverpool this weekend where they were played off the pitch finally proved enough for the United Board to give Mourinho the sack, despite still owing him a reported £15m to £22.5m.

If there’s an opponent PSG could handpick, it very well could’ve been the underperforming group of stars at Old Trafford. Retired Man U legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly set to become the club’s interim boss for the remainder of the season.
Solskjaer is well-respected and has seen success in Norway while in charge of Molde. But his time as manager of Premier League side Cardiff back in 2014 was less successful and ended in relegation.

Now’s The Time To Bet PSG
The odds continue to shorten with the remaining contenders and PSG’s odds have gone from +1100 on November 8 to +700 today.

PSG could be without midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who has reportedly agreed to terms to leave the club and join Barcelona. While he’ll be a loss, PSG have world-class talent all over their roster.

Their front three features stars Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar. The trio could rip apart a Man U defense which has already allowed more goals this season than they did all of last.
Unless Solskjaer can quickly turn things around or United are active in the January transfer window, grabbing some +700 on PSG who look primed to advance to the quarter-finals appears like a good investment.
