One league fans should pay particular attention to this weekend is the Serie A in Italy, which hosts ten matches from Friday to Sunday.

This weekend marks the seventh matchday in Serie A competition. So far, the start of the Italian top-flight has been shockingly close. Southern side, Napoli are in first place on 18 points, while their two northern rivals in Milan sit below them.

Roma looks much improved under Jose Mourinho this season and Fiorentina have been an even better surprise. Of course, you cannot talk about Italian football without mentioning Juventus. Unfortunately, the side from Turin had a shocking start to their Serie A campaign and sit in tenth.

Regardless, this weekend in Serie A features some world class fixtures all over the table. Friday kicks off in Cagliari as they take on Venezia in what could be a relegation battle come the start of summer.

Saturday is highlighted by a couple matches, but specifically, Sassuolo versus the defending champions, Inter Milan.

Finally, Sunday features a string of six matches neutrals around the globe will be tuning in for.

Torino vs Juventus Prediction

To start, the first key match of the Serie A weekend comes at 12:00 pm EST between Torino and Juventus. Currently, Torino and Juventus are level on points in the Italian table. The advantage is currently in favor of Torino on goal difference.

However, after a miserable start to the Serie A season, Juventus have won four out of their last five in all competitions. Those wins came over the likes of Malmo, Spezia, Sampdoria and most impressively, Chelsea during the most recent round of Champions League fixtures.

Manuel Locatelli and Federico Chiesa were superb in that match against the Blues. But, possibly the more impressive feat of that massive clash was the fact that Juventus were able to hold a clean sheet. In particular, Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci were immense in the middle of the pack. As a result, they should be expected to perform well against Torino’s Antonio Sanabria.

Finally, Juventus will be without the likes of Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata. In turn, expect Chiesa and Moise Kean to have an impact on Saturday’s game. In the end, Torino last won this head-to-head battle in 2015, which is why I favor the Juventus moneyline.

Pick: Juventus moneyline (-105)

Fiorentina vs Napoli Prediction

Next, Fiorentina hosts Napoli at 12:00 pm EST on Sunday afternoon in Serie A Matchday 7. This match should be enthralling as Napoli have started their Serie A campaign on fine form.

Secondly, Victor Osimhen has been a delight to watch up front for the team from Naples. In fact, the Nigerian forward has bagged seven goals in his last five games for Napoli. Fiorentina, who have only held one clean sheet all year, will find it difficult to stop him, Lorzeno Insigne, Fabian Ruiz and company.

Nonetheless, Fiorentina are not a passerby, as they have been in recent seasons. “I Viola” have already beaten the likes of Torino and Atalanta in Serie A. Moreover, the pairing of Dusan Vlahovic and Jose Callejon are extremely dangerous up top. They also have the advantage of fresh legs, whereas Napoli played Spartak Moscow on Thursday.

Despite this, I still favor Napoli as they begin what looks like a fierce title campaign.

Pick: Napoli moneyline (-105)

Atalanta vs AC Milan Prediction

Finally, the last match to highlight in Serie A Matchday 7, is between Atalanta an AC Milan at 2:45 pm EST on Sunday.

These sides currently sit in seventh and second place, respectively. Despite starting brilliantly in Serie A, AC Milan have found trouble in the Champions League, falling to both Liverpool and Atletico Madrid.

Still, Milan found themselves competitive until the very end of both those matches. If anything it should give Milan and the likes of Sandro Tonali and Brahim Diaz the confidence to go on and bounce back domestically.

Conversely, Atalanta have dropped more points than expected in Serie A. But, “La Dea” have impressively managed to gather four points in the Champions League against Villarreal and Young Boys.

Most importantly, this is also a head-to-head match that favors Atalanta. Overall, having outscored their Sunday opponents 9-3 in their last four meetings, I favor Atalanta to go on and win again in Serie A.

Pick: Atalanta (+115)
