- On Friday, after Christmas, Wolverhampton Wanderers play host to Manchester City in the Premier League at the Molineux Stadium
- Currently, Wolves and Man City sit in six and third place respectively on the EPL table
- Man City are the rightful favorites in the fixture, with a moneyline of -294
The EPL’s Matchday 19 sees third-place Manchester City (12-2-4, 38 points) travel to face sixth-placed Wolverhampton (6-9-3, 27 points) at Molineux Stadium on Friday, Dec. 27 (2:45 PM ET).
After sputtering for a month, it looks like Manchester City and Pep Guardiola are finally on track. Winners of four straight (all competitions), City is a sizable road favorite this week.
Wolves vs Manchester City Odds
Teams | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Wolves | +1, +1½ , (+101) | +636 | Over 3, (-105) |
Manchester City | -1, -1 ½ (-121) | -294 | Under 3, (-115) |
Draw | N/A | +336 | N/A |
Odds taken on Dec. 23rd, 2019.
Wolves also struggled at the beginning of the campaign, but have managed to sneak their way back into a Europa League spot.
This match is crucial for the Citizens. Currently 11 points behind first-place Liverpool and +825 longshots to win the EPL title, they can ill afford any further slip ups.

For Nuno and Wolves, the match is equally important as Tottenham, Manchester United, Newcastle, and Burnley all sit within three points.
It has been a mixed bag the last three times these sides have played against each other with both teams coming out with a win, draw and loss. Most recently, in October, Adama Traore scored a brace at the Etihad Stadium to take three points off of the back-to-back champions.
Manchester City Looking Like the Machine of Old
Recently, Pep Guardiola’s team have looked reborn with a new fight to win. In their last six, the only loss came to Manchester United in the derby, while winning the other five games by an aggregate score of 17-4. These are the kinds of statistics we are used to associating with a team that has took the Premier League by storm in the past decade. They managed to put three goals past both Arsenal and Leicester City recently, so expect Conor Coady and the Wolves back line to have their hands full.
On the other side, Wolves have looked promising as well, winning three out of their last five against West Ham, Besiktas, and Norwich this past weekend. Raul Jimenez has been their focal point on offense, managing to net seven goals and link up five assists in all competitions.
With a rowdy environment at the Molineux Stadium, it is hard to really say Wolves do not stand a chance.
Wolves vs Manchester City Statistics
6th (27 Points) | Standing in Premier League | 3rd (38 Points) |
1.4 | Goals per game | 2.8 |
12.4 | Shots per game | 20.8 |
47.5% | Average Possession % | 60.9% |
Best Bet
This match is a hard one to predict, mainly because both teams are in a rebound of form, and the reverse fixtures are actually quite mixed.
The best bet is for Raul Jimenez to score any time in the match at +260. City has just one clean sheet in its last 12, all competitions. Jimenez is the most likely to score out of any Wolves player. He scored this weekend against Norwich and should keep up his good form against the northwest side.
