Sebastian Korda is in the midst of some of the best tennis of his career. The 22-year-old has breezed through the competition in London this week at the Cinch Championships, reaching the semi-finals without dropping a set.

However, despite his incredible form at the Queens’ Club, online sportsbooks expect his run to come to an abrupt end on Saturday.

Sebastian Korda Betting Analysis

The unseeded Korda began his run this week with a straight sets win over Dan Evans. He followed that victory up with a 7-6, 6-3 result over fourth seed Francis Tiafoe, and then took down fifth seed Cameron Norrie 6-4, 7-6 in the quarters.

This marks the first time he’s ever advanced to a semi-final without previously dropping a set, and it comes in his Queens’ Club debut.

Korda is just four months removed from wrist surgery, and looks back to the superb form he flashed at the beginning of the season.

The American started the year with a trip to the finals in an ATP 250 series event in Australia, before falling to the GOAT Novak Djokovic. Korda followed up that performance with a quarter-final run at the Aussie Open, knocking off both eight seed Daniil Medvedev and 11th seed Hubert Hurkacz along the way.

He underwent surgery shortly afterwards, and failed to make it past the round of 64 in any of his previous three events. Korda lost three of four matches during that stretch, winning just two sets.

He closed 2022 with two finals appearances in his final three starts, but the large portion of his success in his young career has come on hard courts. He was just 6-4 on grass prior to this week, losing two of three matches on that surface last year.

Carlos Alcaraz Betting Analysis

For all the success Alcaraz has had over his young career, virtually none of it has come on grass. None of his 10 career titles happened on grass courts, and this week marks the first time reached a grass court semi-final.

Alcaraz entered the week with a 4-2 record on that surface, and is up 7-2 with three straight victories. The top seed dropped a set in his first-round matchup versus Arthur Rinderknech, but has won in straight sets in each of his last two outings.

He knocked off Grigor Dimitrov in the quarters in straight sets, but wasn’t as dominant as we’ve come to expect. He won just 67% of his first serve points, and had to face eight break points, saving six.

His return was phenomenal however, as he converted four of six break opportunities en route to the win. He’s now advanced to at least the semis of eight of the nine tournaments he’s played so far this season, capturing four titles.

Alcaraz vs Korda Predictions

Alacaraz, a top-two Wimbledon odds contender, and Korda met three times over their careers but never on grass. The Spaniard owns a 2-1 lifetime record, beating Korda on hard court, and splitting two matches on clay.

At the start of the week, Alcaraz would have been considered an even bigger favorite in this matchup, but Korda’s form and the Spaniard’s lack of results on grass evens the playing field. Friday’s quarterfinal win was Alcaraz’s first ever over a top-30 opponent on this surface.

Korda has a serve and volley playing style perfect for grass. His big serve will earn him plenty of easy points, as evident by his 35 aces in three matches. His results this week over top-five seeds suggest he’s back to the form he flashed at the end of 2022 and start of 2023, and he’s got more than enough game to keep this matchup close.

Pick: Over 22.5 Games (-115)
