Second-round matches in the WTA French Open are slated to get underway at 5:00 am ET on Friday, May 27 with the Karolina Muchova vs Amanda Anisimova match. All of the matches will be broadcast on the Tennis Channel and TSN in Canada.

Badosa vs Kudermetova Prediction

On the surface, it might be tempting to go for an upset play in the Paula Badosa-Veronika Kudermetova match. Head to head, Kudermetova, the +260 underdog, owns a 3-2 advantage over Badosa.

However, dig a little deeper into this research and it unveils that Badosa has won their last two meetings. And she’s done so in convincing fashion, both in recent matches.

Already this year, the Spaniard whipped the Russian 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinals at Indian Wells. More impressively, on the clay at Madrid, Badosa earned a 6-3, 6-0 verdict over Kudermetova in the Round of 64.

Don’t waste your money playing Badosa in the moneyline at -330. Take her at -4.5 and odds of -120 in game handicap betting.

Pick: Badosa -4.5 games (-120)

Kerber vs Sasnovich Prediction

Former world #1 Angelique Kerber is a French Open triumph away from completing the career Grand Slam. No, she’s not the Kerber of old but she’s not playing like an old Kerber, either.

The German won at Strasbourg. She saved two match points while rallying to beat Magdalena Frech 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 in the opening round at Roland Garros. She’s won seven straight matches on red clay surfaces.

Kerber is 2-0 in her career against Aliaksandra Sasnovich. To put that into terms with more recency, Kerber won 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 over Sasnovich in the round of 16 en route to her Strasbourg triumph.

No one is paying much heed to the cagey veteran and that makes Kerber a dangerous foe.

Pick: Angelique Kerber (-115)

Upset of the Day: Fernandez Unbeaten vs Bencic

During second-round play, Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic sent Canada’s Bianca Andreescu packing. Can fellow Canadian Leylah Fernandez avenge the defeat of her compatriot in the third round?

World #14 Bencic and world #18 Fernandez are both playing outstanding tennis at Roland Garros. Fernandez, though, might be going just a touch better than Bencic.

The 17th-seeded Fernandez swept her first two matches in straight sets. She’s only dropped 10 games in the process.

In their only previous on-court encounter, Fernandez downed Bencic 6-2, 7-6(3) in Federation Cup play.

Pick: Leylah Fernandez (+190)

French Open Parlay Pick

Looking for a chance to hit it big on a small wager? Parlays are an exciting and potentially lucrative method for betting on tennis. Here’s a French Open women’s singles third-round parlay play to ponder.

Take Cori “Coco” Gauff to win the first set from Kaia Kanepi at -180. Next, play Kerber 2-1 over Sasnovich in set betting at +360. Finally, go with the hot hand of Madrid finalist Jessica Pegula in the moneyline over Tamara Zidansek at -280.

A $10 play on this three-leg parlay will deliver a payout of $97.11.
