Odds to Score the First TD in Super Bowl 60
Kenneth Walker III has the best odds to score Super Bowl 60’s first touchdown. KW3 is given as short as +325 odds to find the endzone first, but as long as +380. If you bet $20 on Walker to score the first TD at +380 odds with DraftKings, your potential profit would be $76 and your return would be $96.
After Walker, we have another Seahawk with Jaxon Smith-Njigba getting the second-best odds to score the game’s first TD. The Patriot with the best odds is Rhamondre Stevenson, who is getting between +900 and +1000 odds depending on the sportsbook.

Seahawks First Touchdown Scorers This Season
*Denotes the first touchdown of the game.
The Seahawks scored the game’s first TD in 14 of their 20 games this season (70%). They also held their opponents without any touchdowns in a very impressive four games, two of which came against the 49ers. Seattle scored a touchdown in all but one game this season. When Seattle scores the first TD of the game, they are 14-0 this season (including playoffs). But when their opponent scores the first TD of the game, they are just 2-3.
When just looking at total touchdowns, not first TDs, Zach Charbonnet leads the Seahawks with 12. Jaxon Smith-Njigba is second with 12, then Kenneth Walker with 9, and AJ Barner with 7. It’s worth noting that four of Kenneth Walker III’s touchdowns have come in the playoffs.
Here’s a quick look at the trends we have seen from the players who have scored the first touchdown in Seahawks’ games this season:
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Zach Charbonnet are tied for the team-lead having scored the team’s first TD in 5 games each – but you can throw Charbonnet’s name aside with him being out for the season. No other Seahawk has scored their first TD in more than 2 games. Kenneth Walker is one of those players tied with 2, though.
- Zach Charbonnet has the team-lead for having scored the game’s first TD 4 times this season. Again, that doesn’t matter much with him being out. JSN is second on the team with 3 games scoring the first TD.
- Wide receivers have scored Seattle’s first TD in 9 games, with running backs a close second, scoring their first TD in 8 games
- Rashid Shaheed and Kenneth Walker III have been Seattle’s (and the game’s) first TD scorers in their playoff games so far
- Seattle has scored the game’s first touchdown in each of their last 5 games, and 11 of their last 13
- Wide receivers have been the position to score the first touchdown against Seattle most often, with it happening in 6 of their 19 games. Running backs and tight ends are tied for second, as they have accomplished the feat in 3 games each.
In short, if you’re looking at who usually scores the first touchdown for the Seahawks, the answer is Jaxon Smith-Njigba. However, with Zach Charbonnet done for the season, Kenneth Walker III is worth noting as well.
Seahawks Red Zone & Goal Line Looks Distribution
When it comes to red zone looks, here are the Seahawks’ leaders based on percentage of looks this season:
- Zach Charbonnet: 29.3%
- Kenneth Walker III: 26.6%
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba: 11.7%
- AJ Barner: 9.6%
- Cooper Kupp: 7.4%
To be clear, “red zone looks” combine rushing attempts and targets. It is a great stat for seeing which players a team looks to as they’re going in to score. As you can see, Seattle has really leaned on its running backs in the red zone.
Just looking at the playoffs, which gives a bit of a cleaner look to go off for the Super Bowl, since Zach Charbonnet left early in their first playoff game, Kenneth Walker III has seen 50% of the red zone looks. JSN has seen 19.2% of the red zone looks, the second-most.
Charbonnet did log one red zone look before going down to injury. George Holani, who is now serving as the backup to KW3, has only seen one red zone look.
And here is how the Seahawks’ goal line looks have been divided up this season:
- Zach Charbonnet: 45.2%
- Kenneth Walker III: 21.4%
- Jaxon Smith Njigba: 9.5%
- AJ Barner: 9.5%
- Cooper Kupp / Sam Darnold: 4.8%
Seattle’s dependence on their running backs becomes even greater when they get to the goal line.
The Seahawks have only run two plays in goal line situations (inside the opponent’s five-yard-line) in the playoffs so far. Walker got one of the looks, while JSN saw the other.
Patriots First Touchdown Scorers
*Denotes the first touchdown of the game.
The Patriots have scored the game’s first touchdown in just 9 of their 20 games this season (45%). However, they have scored at least one touchdown in every game so far, while holding their opponent without a touchdown in one game (Wild Card vs Chargers). When New England scores the game’s first TD, they are 8-1 this season. When their opponent scores the game’s first TD, they are 9-2.
When looking at total touchdowns, not just first TDs, TreVeyon Henderson leads the team with 10. Rhamondre Stevenson is second with 9, then Hunter Henry with 8, Kayshon Boutte with 7, then Drake Maye and Stefon Diggs each with 5.
Here is a quick look at some of the trends we have seen from the players who have scored the first touchdown, whether it be for or against, in Patriots’ games this season:
- Hunter Henry leads the Patriots with 5 games scoring the team’s first touchdown. However, only one of those first Patriots’ TDs was also the game’s first TD.
- DeMario Douglas has the most games among Patriots players having scored the game’s first TD with 3. The most recent coming in the Divisional Round against the Texans.
- A TE has scored the Patriots’ first touchdown in 7 games this season, the most frequent position to accomplish the feat. The next-best is WRs with 6 games scoring their first TD.
- New England has scored the game’s first touchdown in 4 of their last 5 games, but not the AFC Championship (most recent)
- The Patriots have had a different player score their first touchdown in each of their last five games
- Wide receivers have been the position to score New England’s opponent’s first TD in 10 of 20 games, the most common position to do so, which includes each of their last 2 games, and 3 of their last 4.
To quickly summarize who usually scores the first touchdown for the Patriots, the answer is Hunter Henry.
Patriots Red Zone & Goal Line Touches Distribution
Here are the players the Patriots have prioritized getting the ball when they’re in the red zone this season:
- TreVeyon Henderson: 23.5% of red zone looks
- Rhamondre Stevenson: 21.7%
- Hunter Henry: 13.9%
- Drake Maye: 13.3%
- Stefon Diggs: 7.8%
The Patriots prioritize their RBs in the red zone, but not as much as the Seahawks. TreVeyon Henderson has the slight lead over Rhamondre Stevenson when it comes to red zone work.
If we only focus on their three playoff games so far, Stevenson has seen 41.7% of the red zone looks, with Drake Maye second at 25%. Henderson’s involvement has dwindled in the playoffs, only seeing 8.3% of their red zone looks.
And here’s how their goal line looks have been divided up:
- Rhamondre Stevenson: 26.2%
- TreVeyon Henderson: 14.3%
- Hunter Henry: 11.9%
- Stefon Diggs: 9.5%
- Austin Hooper: 7.1%
While Henderson has the lead in red zone looks, it’s Stevenson who has the clear advantage in goal line looks at 26.2%.
Just looking to their three playoff games, their lone goal line look went to Stevenson.
Super Bowl 1st TD Scorer Prediction
Considering the odds and factoring in all the useful touchdown data above, I am betting Kenneth Walker III to score the first touchdown of Super Bowl 60. He has absolutely dominated Seattle’s red zone looks since Zach Charbonnet went down to injury, and he has made good on them, scoring four touchdowns in two playoff games.
I feel especially good about this one because even if the Patriots get the ball first, I won’t be panicking. Seattle has allowed the fewest points per game this season and have only given up one touchdown on their opponents’ respective first drives of the game – this came all the way back in Week 1.
The Seahawks have scored a touchdown on their first drive in six games, including in the NFC Championship against the Rams, while the Patriots have not scored a TD on their opening drive yet in the playoffs.
The best place to make this bet is at DraftKings, where you can get +380 odds.

Max McGee, a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, scored the first ever touchdown in Super Bowl 1. McGee scored on a 37-yard pass from Bart Starr.
The last ten Super Bowls have seen three running backs open the scoring, three quarterbacks, two wide receivers, one tight end, and one defensive player.
Here are some more Super Bowl first TD scorer trends you should know before betting:
- Wide receivers have scored the first touchdown in 23 of 59 Super Bowls, the most of any position group
- Running backs are the second-most common first touchdown scorer in Super Bowls, accounting for 17 first TDs in Super Bowls
- A defensive player has scored the first touchdown in two Super Bowls—Malik Jackson for the Broncos in Super Bowl 50 and Ty Law for the Patriots in Super Bowl 36
- A special teams player has scored the first touchdown in three Super Bowls—Devin Hester for the Bears in Super Bowl 41, Stanford Jennings for the Bengals in Super Bowl 23, and Derrick Jensen for the Rams in Super Bowl 18
- The team who scores the first touchdown in the Super Bowl has gone on to win 42 of the 59 Super Bowls, which includes 12 of the last 15
- We have not seen the same position score the first touchdown in back-to-back Super Bowls since 46 and 47 when wide receivers (Victor Cruz and Anquan Boldin) did it in back-to-back years
