BetMGM Illinois launched on March 5, 2022, which was the same day mobile registration came to Illinois. Prior to that, Illinois sports bettors had to register in person for their accounts.

On Feb. 27, 2020, BetMGM Indiana became the fifth online sports betting site to launch in the state.
BetMGM Iowa
Like in Illinois, BetMGM Iowa’s launch coincided with the beginning of mobile registration in the state. This came on Jan. 4, 2021, nearly two years after sports betting in the state was legalized.
BetMGM Kansas
BetMGM Kansas was launched on Sept. 1, 2022, the first day for online sports betting in the state.
BetMGM Kentucky
Retail sports betting got a three-week headstart on its mobile counterpart in Kentucky, but BetMGM Kentucky went live online with the rest of the state on Sept. 28, 2023.
BetMGM Louisiana
BetMGM Louisiana launched on Jan. 28, 2022. It does not have a casino partner, and is licensed through the Louisiana Lottery, but it does have a partnership with the Houston Astros, who have a massive audience in Louisiana.
BetMGM Massachusetts
Online sports betting in Massachusetts launched on March 10, 2023, and BetMGM Massachusetts was part of that launch.
BetMGM Maryland
BetMGM Maryland launched on Nov. 23, 2022, which coincided with the launch of online sports betting in the state.
BetMGM Michigan
BetMGM Michigan was part of the state’s online sports betting launch, going live on Jan. 22, 2021.
BetMGM Mississippi
The BetMGM Mississippi mobile app launched on Nov. 12, 2021. It can be downloaded statewide, but in order to place bets on the app, bettors must be physically located at Beau Rivage in Biloxi.
BetMGM Nevada
The BetMGM Nevada app launched on March 9, 2020. You can use it anywhere within the state’s borders, but you must register your account in person at one of MGM Resorts properties in Nevada.
BetMGM New Jersey
New Jersey was the first state to get the BetMGM app, with BetMGM New Jersey launching on Sept. 6, 2019. Prior to that, it was known as PlayMGM, which had launched in August of 2018.
BetMGM New York
BetMGM New York joined the online sports betting party in the Empire State a week late, launching on Jan. 17, 2022. The official sports betting launch in the state was Jan. 8.
BetMGM North Carolina
BetMGM North Carolina was one of several sports betting apps to be part of the state’s well-timed launch, going live on March 11, 2024, just in time for March Madness.
BetMGM Ohio
Happy New Year! BetMGM Ohio was part of the Jan. 1, 2023, launch of online sports betting in the state.
BetMGM Pennsylvania
The BetMGM Pennsylvania sportsbook app launched on Dec. 18, 2020. In a rare occurrence, this came two weeks after the BetMGM Casino app launched in the state.
BetMGM Tennessee
Tennessee launched sports betting on Nov. 1, 2020, and BetMGM Tennessee was part of that launch. At the time, it was the only state to offer online-only sports betting, without requiring a casino or retail partnership.
