The Minnesota Vikings can use a preseason win to get the confidence rolling for the week one against the Lions. The Vikes visit the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday at 8 PM ET at Candlestick Park, in a game national broadcasted by NBC.
Head coach Leslie Frazier hasn’t been giving much information about whether Adrian Peterson will play or not. “We’ve discussed it with Adrian, and discussed it with our offensive staff, and they have a good feel for how we’re going to handle it,” Frazier said.
“We got some things in place for him, and we’ll see how it goes as the game goes on. But he’s had a great training camp for us. He’s worked extremely hard. We’ll see how it goes as the game goes.”
The Vikings lost to the Texans and the Bills; on both occasion their defense looked really bad, especially against Buffalo.
San Francisco is 1-1 in this preseason, but we haven’t seen Colin Kaepernick much during these preparation games.
“I think it’s going to be a big game for them, big game for all of us,” 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman said this week about the game against Vikings. “But, I think they just need to improve really down-in, down-out consistency. The right reads, obviously making the right throws. They’ve done some really good stuff up ’til now, stuff that’s under-the-radar type things. Again, they’ve had some plays that they’d love to do over again. So, it’s a matter of coming out this week and having a really strong performance.”
San Francisco is 3 point favorites for Sunday night. Head coach Jim Harbaugh 6-4 in the preseason and Leslie Frazier is 3-6.
