The Pirates (11-16, 5-7 home) have lost eight of their last 11 games, including 7-3 to the Reds on Sunday in Cincinnati.

In five career games (two starts) against the Pirates, Urias is 3-0 with a 2.37 ERA. He is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA in two games (one start) at PNC Park.

Urias has a record of 1-1 with a 3.46 ERA in three road starts this season. He is 2-0 with a 0.56 ERA in three nighttime starts.

Quintana is still looking for his first win of the season after five starts, though he had a solid outing last Wednesday against the Tigers in Detroit. Pitching the second game of a doubleheader, Quintana gave up two runs and four hits in five innings while striking out three and walking one. Quintana hasn’t won a game in the major leagues since 2019.

Quintana has a 1-2 career record in 11 games (eight starts) against the Dodgers but a solid 3.55 ERA.

This will be just Quintana’s second start at night. In his other one, he surrendered two runs in 4.2 innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on April 22 at Chicago. Quintana is 0-1 with a 3.14 ERA in three starts at PNC Park.

Chris Taylor is 7 for 17 (.412) off Quintana with three doubles while Mookie Betts is 6 for 17 (.353) with two doubles and a home run.

The Dodgers held the Cubs to three runs and 15 hits in three games.

Michael Perez provided the offensive highlight for the Pirates in Sunday’s loss at Cincinnati with a two-run home run. Pittsburgh took a 2-0 lead into the sixth inning, but its bullpen allowed seven runs in three innings.

The Dodgers have won 16 straight games against the Pirates dating to 2018, sweeping the season series 6-0 in 2019 and 2021. The teams did not play during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.

Turner led the way for the Dodgers last season against the Pirates, going 7 for 17 (.412) with a double and two homers.
