USC vs Colorado Prediction, Odds, Spread and Best Bets

- The #8 USC Trojans are 34-point home favorites over the Colorado Buffaloes in their college football game slated for Friday, November 11
- USC is 15-0 straight up all-time against Colorado
- However, the Buffaloes are 3-1 against the spread in the last four meetings between the two schools
When the Colorado Buffaloes (1-8, 2-7 ATS) are facing the #8 USC Trojans (8-1, 5-4 ATS), carnage generally ensues. They will be meeting this week for the 16th time in this Pac-12 series. All 15 times, USC has left the field with the victory.
However, start viewing this series from a betting standpoint and the rivalry is doing a 180. Colorado is 3-1 against the spread over the past four games. The Buffaloes are 7-4 ATS in the last 12 contests with the Trojans.
The latter history lesson isn’t swaying oddsmakers one iota. They’re living in the present and that’s why USC is set as prohibitive odds-on 34-point home favorites. USC is just 4-3 ATS as the double-digit chalk against Colorado.

In terms of NCAA public betting trends, the public is quite willing to lay the 34 points on the Trojans. On the spread, USC is drawing the backing of 73% of handle and 60% of bets. When it comes to the total of 66 points, the public is divided. There’s 78% of the handle on the over and 56% of bets supporting the under. The under is 4-1-1 in the last six games between Colorado and USC.
In the National Championship odds, USC is set as the co-ninth choice at odds of +6000. The Trojans are the +230 second betting choice to win the Pac-12 title.
Defense An Issue For USC?
A great start to the season is suddenly a campaign showing cause for concern with the Trojans. USC was 3-0 SU and ATS through the first three games of the season. Since then, while they’ve mostly kept winning (5-1 SU), the Trojans are a dismal 2-4 ATS.
Known for a tradition of legendary tailbacks, USC is 12th in the nation in passing offense (313.7 yards per game). Quarterback Caleb Williams, listed at +900 in the Heisman Trophy odds, is showing 28 touchdown passes against one interception.

In last week’s win against Cal, Williams threw for 360 yards and four TDs. He also rambled for 38 yards and one TD on the ground.
What’s worrisome for USC is the points the team is suddenly surrendering. Leading the 3-6 Bears 27-7 at one stage, the Trojans hung on for a 41-35 victory. In the past three games, USC’s defense is allowing an average of 38.3 points.
No One Coming To Colorado Defense
As much as USC has concerns about defensive struggles, for the Buffaloes, they’re still searching for some semblance of defense. Colorado currently rates 128th out of 131 FBS schools in total defense. They’re permitting opposing offenses to gain 483.2 yards per game.

Only Charlotte (56) has allowed more TDs than Colorado (49). Following an 0-5 start, the Buffaloes found a glimmer of success when changing coaches from Karl Dorrell to Mike Sanford Jr. The Buffaloes beat Cal in their first game under Sanford. However, they’ve gone 0-3 SU and 1-2 ATS since that victory.
USC vs Colorado Prediction
USC is going to win this game. However, history shows that they’ll be struggling to cover the point spread. The Trojans are just 3-3 ATS as double-digit favorites this season.

This is the largest spread on a USC-Colorado game since 2012. Winning 50-6 that year, USC wound up covering as the 39-point home chalk.
There are too many concerns with USC’s defense to feel comfortable laying the 34 points here. Take the Buffaloes to cover the number.
Pick: Colorado Buffaloes +34 (-110).
