New England Patriots Betting Trends

At one point this season the Patriots were 6-4 and in a playoff position. Since that time, Bill Belichick’s squad have come up short against the Minnesota Vikings and were blown out by the Buffalo Bills.

Frighteningly, second-year quarterback Mac Jones has regressed significantly this season. A case of the sophomore slump has led to Jones struggling to even keep his starting job. The former Alabama pivot has thrown for just 1963 yards, with only 7 touchdowns and 7 interceptions so far this year.

Unfortunately for the Patriots, they enter Monday night with a large list of key players on the injury report. Leading receiver Jakobi Meyers will miss this contest with a concussion. While the Pats have also ruled out starting corner Jalen Mills  and offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn.

On defense, New England will aim to do what Bill Belichick’s teams do so well, take away the oppositions main offensive threat (DeAndre Hopkins) and force someone else to beat them. Keeping Kyler Murray in the pocket is another matter all together. However, the Patriots have done a solid job shutting down passing attacks this season. Belichick’s still got it, as the Patriots are 7th in total defense.

Additionally, the betting trends favor the Patriots, as New England is 12-2 against the spread in their last 14 games played after a double digit loss at home.

Arizona Cardinals Betting Trends

Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals have been extremely disappointing this season. After racing out to a 10-2 start in 2021, the Cardinals are just 5-12 since.

Despite having an head coach known for his offensive prowess, Arizona ranks just 20th in total offense this season. Much of that has been down to injuries, and the suspension to DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins’ absence, along with Kyler Murray, Marquise Brown, and starting tight end Zach Ertz all being hurt has wreaked havoc on the Cardinals.

Now that Murray, Brown and Hopkins are back on the field, look for this passing attack to get rolling on Monday night. The Cardinals would be smart to run the football early with bruising back James Conner. Conner had over 100 yards last week against the Los Angeles Chargers and was thoroughly effective at keeping the Chargers defense off-balance.

Make no mistake about it, although the Cardinals are 4-8 they are still a dangerous football team. Intriguingly, the over has hit in six straight Cardinals’ games. While the under has hit in four of the Cardinals last five meetings with the Patriots.

New England Patriots vs Arizona Cardinals Predictions

While the Cardinals have hardly looked themselves on offense this year, the Patriots attack has been equally anemic. That being said, Monday Night Football at home could be just the spotlight this Cardinals’ team needs to get things back on track.

New England is reeling, and while the Cardinals have looked pitiful all year, I like Kyler Murray to come through with the victory here.

Pick: Arizona Cardinals to win (+105), Risk: 1 unit

2022 NFL Record: 9-8-1
