On such a stacked weekend of wrestling, AEW Double or Nothing 2023 this Sunday, May 28th may very well end up being the best of the bunch as it emanates live from its usual home of the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The AEW World Championship will be up for grabs in a heavily-touted four-way match featuring the “four pillars” of the promotion: Darby Allin, “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, Sammy Guevara and the champ himself, MJF.
They’ll have a lot to live up to following an electric undercard involving Adam Cole vs. Chris Jericho in an Unsanctioned match and the second-ever Anarchy in the Arena match between The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club.
Ahead of the anticipated event, let’s take a look at the favorites that are expected to emerge victorious at AEW Double or Nothing 2023, according to our own betting odds and analysis.

AEW TNT Championship Ladder Match Best Bet
Wardlow’s booking over the last year has been extremely questionable, and as his third reign as AEW TNT champion gets underway, it’s imperative AEW gets it right with him this time, starting with a decisive win over Christian Cage on this show.

Beating the seasoned veteran at his own game in a Ladder match would be an instant credibility booster. Cage would be the perfect fit as champ eventually and thus a surprise win is possible, but Wardlow is the safe choice at -300 in the odds.
AEW Women’s World Championship Pick
Jamie Hayter has been rolling as AEW Women’s World champion since taking the title from Toni Storm at November’s Full Gear event and now Storm is looking to get the belt back. Unfortunately, the prestigious prize has largely been overshadowed in the midst of the ongoing Outcasts vs. AEW originals rivalry.

Even with Hayter hurt, there’s no reason to change the championship on Sunday night. She should maintain her possession of the gold until at least All In in August, where she can defend against fellow Englishwoman, Saraya. Hayter is a firm favorite at -600.
Unsanctioned Match Prediction
The ruthless rivalry between Adam Cole and Chris Jericho has been one of AEW’s best-built bouts heading into Double or Nothing, making this match a must-see attraction. With revenge on Cole’s mind for what Jericho did to his girlfriend Britt Baker, it’s safe to assume he’ll reign supreme when they finally collide.

Jericho going over accomplishes nothing other than prolonging the program, which isn’t necessary. Cole coming out on top would allow him to move on coming out of the event and possibly set his sights on championship gold.
Anarchy in the Arena Match Pick
The Elite vs. Blackpool Combat Club has featured some of AEW’s strongest storytelling in recent memory and there is no indication this angle is anywhere close to over. With this likely being the first installment of multiple matches in the feud, a Blackpool Combat Club victory makes the most sense, making them the favorites at -150.

There is money in betting on The Elite, however. They’re finally back in full force and are back to being a cohesive unit, but it would be more logical for them to win in a Blood and Guts rematch in the near future.
AEW World Championship Best Bet
Despite being at a distinct disadvantage in this four-way, MJF retaining is perhaps the most predictable outcome on the entire show. With none of his challengers posing a legitimate threat, MJF is far and away the heavy favorite at -900 in the odds with only Darby Allin coming closest at +900.

A shock victory for Allin, Jack Perry or Sammy Guevara isn’t totally far-fetched, but it wouldn’t be the smartest call. There’s more mileage in MJF as champion and him stealing the win in the Double or Nothing main event to extend the reign is the right route to take.
