As the Seattle Seahawks prepare to battle the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60 on February 8, sharp bettors know that it’s imperative to take the weather conditions at Levi’s Stadium into account before placing wagers.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 pm PT/6:30 pm ET and, unlike the controlled conditions of a dome, this venue introduces potential volatility into the handicapping equation. The elements can dictate game script, altering everything from red-zone efficiency to third-down conversion rates on the natural grass turf.

Below, I will break down the environmental factors that could shift the line value in this high-stakes championship matchup.

With the Seahawks and Patriots meeting outdoors, the weather stands as the final independent variable to clear before locking in wagers.

Levi’s Stadium leaves both teams exposed to the Bay Area’s microclimate, which can pivot from serene to chaotic in February.

Will It Rain During Super Bowl 60?

Luckily for both quarterbacks, a decent chance of rain earlier in the week has pivoted to 0% chance of precipitation on gameday.

This will be the first time in weeks that Drake Maye has operated in relatively clean conditions. The New England pivot was limited to just 179 passing yards in snowy conditions in the Divisional Round against Houston, and a meager 86 yards in even-worse conditions in the AFC Championship Game in Denver.

Sam Darnold has had much better luck with the weather in the playoffs; he threw for just 124 yards on 17 attempts as the Seahawks breezed past the 49ers (41-6) in the Divisional Round. He went off for 346 yards and three touchdowns against the Rams in the NFC Championship Game.

Will Wind Impact Passing Attacks in Seahawks vs Patriots?

Another good omen for the offenses is that the wind conditions have also mellowed out compared to earlier in the week. Originally forecasted for wind gusts up to 27 mph, the Super Bowl 60 weather forecast now projects modest 6.9 to 9.2 mph winds throughout the game, with relatively minor gusts if any.

Typically, it takes crosswinds of 15 mph or above for passing games to be significantly impacted.

Based on the current Seahawks/Patriots weather forecast, handicappers can safely assume that both passing games will be operating in near-perfect conditions for an outdoor venue. A dome would obviously be better for over bets, but that fact is also baked into the lines for the Seahawks/Patriots player props.
