Starting with the 2019-20 season, SBD has annually tracked the NBA divisional odds each season for all six divisions in the league. This page preserves the NBA division odds from each season since that time, allowing readers to look back and see how the odds progressed from opening to the last game of the regular season.

2024 Atlantic Division
- Mar. 26, 2024: The books have been closed since February and as of last week it became official: the Celtics have captured the Atlantic Division (not to mention the #1 seed in the East).
- Nov. 4, 2023: The Celtics remain heavy -350 favorites two weeks into the regular season with the 76ers seen as their only legitimate challengers.
- July 10, 2023: Boston has opened as a heavy -400 favorite in the NBA Atlantic Division odds, followed by the 76ers at a distant +500.
Central Division
- Mar. 26, 2024: Cleveland is keeping it close, but the Bucks (-441) remain as favorites to win the Central with eleven games to go.
- Nov. 4, 2023: The Bucks have shortened to -350 as the Cavaliers struggle out of the gate.
- July 10, 2023: The Bucks (-400) are once again heavy favorites in the opening Central Division odds with the Cavaliers (+300) considered their only real competition.
Southeast Division
- Mar. 26, 2024: For the first time since February, the Magic (-278) are again favorites to win the Southeast for the first time since 2019.
- Nov. 4, 2023: The odds to win the Southeast Division have narrowed considerably with Miami dropping from odds-on -165 chalk to +105 and Atlanta improving to +150.
- July 10, 2023: The NBA Southeast Division odds slightly favor the Heat (-120) over the Hawks (+115) in the preseason, with the young Magic a distant third-favorite at +1400.
Northwest Division
- Mar. 26, 2024: Though they only hold a one-game lead over OKC, the Nuggets (-278) are once again favorites to win the Northwest.
- Nov. 4, 2023: The Nuggets (-450) have an early two-game lead on the T-Wolves (+650) and Thunder (+650).
- July 10, 2023: The reigning division and NBA-champion Nuggets are massive -400 favorites in the opening NBA Northwest Division odds. Second-favorite Minnesota is back at +550.
Pacific Division
- Mar. 26, 2024: With odds once as long as +762, the Clippers (-2581) are overwhelming favorites to win the Pacific, with a two-game lead over Sacramento.
- Nov. 4, 2023: The Pacific remains the tightest division in terms of the odds. No team is shorter than +195 (Suns) or longer than +850 (Kings).
- July 10, 2023: The NBA Pacific Division odds are the most wide open at the moment, with the Suns a tepid +150 favorite over the Warriors (+325), Clippers (+450), Kings (+450), and Lakers (+650).
Southwest Division
- Mar. 26, 2024: With just eleven games to go, the Pelicans (-275) hold a narrow two-game lead over Dallas (206) to capture the Southwest.
- Nov. 4, 2023: Preseason favorite Memphis has already faded to +650 after a brutal 0-6 start while the 4-1 Mavericks are now an even-money favorite to win the division.
2022 Atlantic Division
- [March 20] The Boston Celtics are now first in the East, and odds-on favorites in the Atlantic
- [March 8] Undefeated since acquiring James Harden, the Sixers are heavy odds-on favorites
- [February 17] With the addition of James Harden in tow, Philadelphia is now a heavier favorite to win the Atlantic. The Nets have fallen behind both Toronto and Boston with KD out and no timetable for Ben Simmons’ return
- [February 7] As the Nets tumble down the standings on their 8-game losing streak, the 76ers are now the Atlantic Division favorites
- [January 25] The Nets remain odds-on favorites, but with Kevin Durant sidelined their odds have slightly lengthened
- [January 13] With Kyrie Irving now playing, Brooklyn is at average odds in the -400 range
- [December 10] The Nets remain odds-on favorites, while the Knicks have slid to fourth – even behind the roller coaster Celtics
- [November 16] Despite not having Kyrie Irving, the 76ers have had numerous injury issues to start the year – allowing the Nets to settle in as heavy -380 favorites
- [November 1] Buoyed off their hot start and wins against the Celtics and Sixers, the Knicks have shortened to +700 and third favorites in the Atlantic
- [October 19] Although the Nets seem to be trudging ahead without Kyrie, their odds continued to shorten now -220 to win the Atlantic
- [October 12] Despite the current situation in which Kyrie Irving having to miss home games at Barclays Center due to their vaccine mandate, the Nets are still heavy -195 favorites in the Atlantic Division

- [February 17] Milwaukee is odds-on favorite, while the Cavs and Bulls can be found as short as +250
- [February 7] The race in the Central has tightened, with the Bucks and Cavs getting hot while the Bulls deal with injuries and have teetered recently
- [January 25] As Chicago deals with multiple injuries to their rotation, the Bucks have shifted to odds-on favorites
- [January 13] Can the Bulls unseat the Bucks in the Central?! They’ve pulled even at FanDuel with odds of -115
- [December 10] Chicago remains +240, but the favorite Bucks have a chance to distance themselves as the Bulls deal with a team-wide covid outbreak
- [November 16] This race has tightened up, as the Bucks opened the year with a bit of a title hangover and the Bulls behind new acquisition DeMar DeRozan are playing the best ball in the East, as they’re down to +240 odds to win the Central
- [November 1] Are the Bulls for real? Chicago’s hot start is vaulted them ahead of the Pacers to odds of +600 in the Central. Milwaukee remains heavy favorites
- [October 19] No movement in the Central ahead of opening night
- [October 12] In what figures to be the least competitive divisional race in the league, the Bucks are massive favorites

- [January 25] The Heat are now heavily favored to win the Southeast as they sit atop the Eastern Conference and the Hawks/Hornets fight for playoff position
- [January 13] Miami is now a heavy odds on favorite, with the Hawks and Hornets unable to keep pace despite the Heat’s injury and covid issues
- [December 10] The Heat remain odds-on favorites, but the Hawks are shortening with Bam Adebayo still out for Miami
- [November 16] With the Hawks struggling, the Heat are heavy odds-on favorites in the Southeast. The books have not yet bought in to the Wizards despite their hot start, as their odds are still a distant third
- [November 1] While the Heat still are gelling on the floor with their new additions, they remain odds-on favorites
- [October 19] The Heat remain favorites going in to opening night
- [October 12] Buoyed by the addition of Kyle Lowry, the Miami Heat are slight odds-on favorites over the Hawks to regain the stronghold of the Southeast

- [January 25] Phoenix has a stellar 37-9 record and sits atop the Western Conference – as well as the Pacific Division, in which they are now heavy odds-on favorites
- [January 13] In the most competitive West divisional race, Phoenix is a slight odds-on favorite over the Warriors – who just got Klay Thompson back
- [December 10] The Warriors have inched ahead of the Suns in the Pacific battle between the league’s two best team, now the odds-on favorite while the Suns are +105
- [November 16] GSW and PHO are playing the best ball in the West to open up the season, and their odds to win the Pacific are now both +150
- [November 1] The Lakers have started in a hole due to injuries and new chemistry issues with Russell Westbrook, dropping them behind the Suns for favorites’ position. The Clippers are also struggling mightily without Kawhi Leonard – and LAC has fallen to odds of +1400
- [October 19] After being odds on favorites at open, the Lakers are now +100 ton win the Pacific
- [October 12] In what figures to be the most competitive divisional race in the league this season, the Lakers are odds-on favorites with the addition of Russell Westbrook to the lineup alongside LeBron and AD

- [December 10] Despite Ja Morant being out, the Grizzlies are hanging tough against the odds-on favored Mavs
- [November 16] The Mavs are odds-on favorites, but teams have a chance to make up ground with Luka suffering an ankle injury
- [November 1] Dallas has seen their price slightly lengthen as they’ve had a disjointed start under Jason Kidd

- [April 23] With the Nets managing the injuries for both Kevin Durant and James Harden, the 76ers have moved to pretty significant favorites to win the Atlantic
- [Apr 14] The Atlantic is down to a two-horse race, with the Nets now -114 favorites and the 76ers at odds of -107
- [Mar 10] The Raptors have officially ejected from the Atlantic Division race, now at odds of +5250
- [Feb 25] The Celtics are in a free-fall in the standings, 3-7 in their last ten games, and have seen their Atlantic Division odds plummet to +3000
- [Feb 9] Despite sitting atop the Eastern Conference, the Sixers still sit behind the Nets in Atlantic Division odds. Philly is at an average of +138, while the Nets are still odds-on favorites at -101
- [Jan 26] The Raptors have played better of late, improving their odds to +1450. The Nets are still odds-on favorites as Kyrie Irving works himself back into the rotation
- [Jan 14] With the acquisition of James Harden, the Brooklyn Nets are now odds-on favorites at -155. The Raptors putrid 2-8 start has dropped them to odds of +2100
- [Jan 5] Amidst a putrid 1-5 start, the Raps odds have fallen to an average of +1100 to win the Atlantic

- [Apr 14] Atlanta continues to pick up steam under interim HC Nate McMillan, and their odds to win the division have shortened to +110. Miami is also playing good basketball, and they remain -120 odds-on favorites
- [Mar 10] The bottom has fallen out for the Magic due to their injuries, while the Heat’s improvement has shortened their average odds to -283
- [Feb 25] With Butler returning, Miami is starting to look like their bubble-selves again, and their odds to win the Southeast are an average of -188
- [Feb 9] Despite sitting at 9-14, only good for 12th in the conference, the markets are still bullish on the Heat returning to last season’s form as Jimmy Butler’s squad are still at odds of -132 to win the division
- [Jan 26] Atlanta’s odds continue to improve, now at +400 ahead of Orlando

Pacific Division

- [Apr 23] As both the Clippers and Lakers load manage their way through injuries down the stretch, the Phoenix Suns are now odds-on favorites to win the division for the first time since 2006-07
- [Apr 14] With LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ absences becoming extended, the Lakers are out of the Pacific division race as their odds have faded to +4750. The Suns are now chasing the Clippers at odds of +100, while LAC are odds-on favorites at an average price of -145
- [Mar 10] Phoenix has officially become a legitimate contender, now at odds of +315 to win the Pacific. The Clippers have also pulled even with the Lakers as LAL entered the All-Star Break in a swoon
- [Feb 25] The Suns have climbed to fourth in the West, and have +1300 odds to win the Pacific – but the Clippers are now the favorites with Anthony Davis out for LA.
- [Feb 9] Despite having played decent basketball of late, the Lakers and Clippers success has led to the Warriors and Suns fading away in the division race. Phoenix are now +3300 on average, while Golden State is all the way up at +8000
- [Jan 26] The Suns dropped two heartbreakers against Denver over the weekend, and their odds in division have dropped to +2500
- [Jan 14] The Warriors improved play has slightly improved their odds to +4300. Lakers remains odds-on favorites.
- [Jan 5] Golden State has ejected from the Pacific Division race, now at average odds of +5750
- [Dec 24] The Suns and Warriors are now tied for third spot in the division odds after their opening games
- [Dec 16] With their new additions looking good, the Lakers are now odds-on favorites to win the Pacific
- [Nov 27] Buoyed by the additions of Dennis Schroder, Montrezl Harrell and Marc Gasol, the Lakers are +100 favorites to repeat in the Pacific Division

- [Feb 9] In what is now the most competitive division in the league Dallas has fallen back to the pack with their poor start to the season, at average odds of +113. The Spurs, Rockets and Grizzlies have all seen their odds shorten over the past two weeks
- [Jan 26] San Antonio has picked up their pace, and are now second in odds to win the Southwest, at a price of +550
- [Jan 14] Houston’s odds have fallen to +1050 after the trade of James Harden, while the Spurs have seen their average price improve to +850
- [Jan 5] With the Grizzlies losing Ja Morant for 3-5 weeks, Memphis has seen their odds fade to +1850
- [Dec 16] The Mavs remain heavy favorites in the Southwest, as James Harden’s passive aggressive standoff with Rockets management continues
- [Nov 27] It’s Luka Doncic’s division now in the Southwest, as the Mavericks have opened as -190 favorites. Houston is +475 for the time being, with James Harden and Russell Westbrook still on the roster

- [Jan 7] For the first time this season, Boston is now the favorite in the division with average odds of +115, as Philly’s losing streak has set them back to an average of +140
- [Dec 25] After beating the shorthanded Raptors on Christmas day, the Celtics average odds have reached +235, while Toronto has faded to +400
