Moments after the New York Knicks captured the 2026 NBA title, their first since 1973, the 2027 NBA Championship odds opened at online sportsbooks.
The Knicks ran through the postseason, going 16-3 straight-up, but oddsmakers don’t even have New York among the top-three favorites in the 2027 NBA title futures.
NBA Championship Odds for 2027
The reigning Western Conference-champion San Antonio Spurs and 2025 NBA-champion OKC Thunder are the co-favorites at +250, followed by the Boston Celtics at +550.

Knicks Priced at +750 to Repeat as NBA Champs
The Knicks have opened as the fourth-favorite at +750 in the NBA Championship odds at DraftKings.
The last team to repeat as NBA champs was the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018.
New York will be able to keep its core intact if it so chooses. Their biggest impending free agents are center Mitchell Robinson (13.6 MPG, 5.0 PPG in postseason) and guard Landry Shamet (16.5 MPG, 6.1 PPG in postseason).
Spurs Ahead of Schedule
The single biggest driver of this price is the ascension of Victor Wembenyama. In just his third NBA season, Wemby took home his first DPOY award and will open as a heavy favorite in the 2027 NBA Defensive Player of the Year odds. He also won Western Conference Finals MVP and carried San Antonio through an unbelievable 30-4 regular-season closing stretch.
Oddsmakers are assuming that he will be the undisputed, most-dominant single force in the NBA by next season. Betting markets always price in the progression of transcendent 22-year-old superstars
On top of Wemby, the Spurs’ secondary core is incredibly young and rising fast. Sophomore guard Stephon Castle and rookie Dylan Harper could have the San Antonio backcourt on lock for the next decade.
