The Houston Rockets will take on the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2026 NBA Las Vegas Summer League at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 4 p.m. ET. The 76ers will look to remain undefeated in The Association’s summer circuit, while the Rockets will look to bounce back after a loss to the Toronto Raptors last time out.

Read on as I break down this matchup from an analytical perspective, as I’ll attempt to find the top betting edge, best odds, and top picks in this 2026 NBA Las Vegas Summer League showdown.

The consensus lists the 76ers as favorites, and that shouldn’t be surprising given how they’ve played so far in the Summer League. Led by names such as Labaron Philon, who’s a top name to watch in the NBA Rookie of the Year odds, Johni Broome and Duke Miles, the 76ers have an enviable collection of scoring prowess and young talent.

The Rockets are probably going to rely on improvements on the defensive end if they’re going to pull the upset here. They allowed the Raptors to shoot 50.8 percent from the field in Saturday’s loss while being outrebounded 37-30. That kind of effort is not going to cut it against a Philadelphia team that has scored over 100 points in its two games despite shooting under 46 percent from the floor both times.

76ers vs Rockets Picks & Best Bets

This 76ers vs Rockets matchup pits an undefeated team against one that has struggled with consistency in the early going of the Summer League. Those inconsistencies aren’t uncommon at this level; Summer League rosters are often a mix of rookies, free agents, and players trying to earn a training camp invite.

Cohesion and familiarity among teammates are almost non-existent, leaving the strength of the roster tied almost exclusively to the individual talent each team possesses. With that in mind, and after navigating through the odds and picks for this 2026 NBA Las Vegas Summer League matchup, here are my best picks.

The 76ers are one of five undefeated teams in the 2026 NBA Las Vegas Summer League, but their two wins have been convincing. Even though they needed overtime to get past the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, Philadelphia has won both games by at least seven points, reaching the 100-point threshold and limiting opponents to under 95 points each time.

Excluding the teams that have already played three games, the Sixers rank second in total points with 201 — only the Golden State Warriors have scored more points among teams with two games under their belts.

The Rockets, on the other hand, are headlined by Bruce Thornton and G League Ignite standouts Michael Foster Jr. and Daishen Nix. One player to watch outside of Thornton is Quadir Copeland, who has an outside chance of being a steady contributor following an impressive campaign at NC State in the 2025-26 college basketball season.

Given that the Rockets lost by 13 points to the Raptors last time out, it’s hard to see them competing with a loaded 76ers team. We’re backing the spread here, as it doesn’t properly reflect the gap in talent between these two teams.

Game-Total Pick: Over 180.5 (-120 at BetMGM)

When it comes to analyzing the over/under, the two games the 76ers have played so far in the Summer League have featured at least 186 points in regulation, and with Philon and Broome pushing the pace, this feels like a no-brainer — especially with the 76ers needing to win to move closer to locking up a semifinals berth.

Meanwhile, the two Summer League games the Rockets have played have ended with 191 and 183 total points in the loss to Toronto and the win over Denver, respectively. Feel confident backing the over, as this is likely to be a fast-paced game between two teams that need to get the W to keep their Summer League playoff chances alive.
