College GameDay heads to Knoxville for Texas vs Tennessee on Saturday, September 26. The programs have met three times in the Cotton Bowl, but this is their first regular-season matchup.

Both teams enter 3-0 for the noon ET kickoff on ABC. Johnny Knoxville is the guest picker as Arch Manning visits the stadium where his uncle became a Tennessee legend.

Texas vs Tennessee Prediction: Vols +5

Tennessee is averaging 298.7 rushing yards, with at least 268 yards and three rushing touchdowns in each game. Texas is a tougher test, but the Vols have a clear way to keep this close.

I’m backing that ground game to sustain drives and limit Manning’s possessions. Tennessee doesn’t need to outscore Texas in a shootout for this bet to work.

I’ll take five points at home, with +4.5 my cutoff.

Iowa vs Michigan Pick: Hawkeyes +5.5

Iowa has allowed 13 points total through three games. Both teams are 3-0, and the Hawkeyes just put up 422 rushing yards in a 55-0 win over Northern Iowa.

Michigan represents a big step up from Northern Iowa. Still, with the total at 38.5, I like getting more than a field goal with a defense that has allowed only one touchdown.

I’ll take the points. A narrow Michigan win still gets Iowa home.

• My Pick: Iowa +5.5 (-111 at BetMGM)

Oregon vs USC Best Bet: Over 61.5

Oregon hung 740 yards and 12 touchdowns last week, though that came against FCS opponent Portland State. USC will provide a much tougher test, so I’m not expecting another runaway.

USC is the stronger half of this bet. The Trojans are 4-0, put up 461 yards at 7.3 yards per play in their latest win, and have scored in all 16 quarters this season and 22 straight going back to last year.

I expect USC to keep answering Oregon. A 35-28 game clears 61.5, my highest playable total.
