Iowa earned this one the hard way. A last-second touchdown at Michigan pushed the Hawkeyes to 4-0 and pulled College GameDay back to Iowa City for the first time in two decades.

Ohio State arrives 3-1 and hasn’t played at Kinnick Stadium since a 55-24 loss in 2017. Kickoff is 3:30 PM ET on CBS, and Iowa basketball legend Caitlin Clark is the guest picker.

Below you’ll find the College GameDay Week 5 picks tracker, Saturday’s featured games and my betting card.

Herbstreit made nine picks because he was calling Texas-Tennessee, and that abstention is excluded from the combined total.

The consensus finished 5-4, excluding the 2-2 split on Texas-Tennessee. Superdogs finished 2-4 against the spread, with Stanford Steve cashing Minnesota +10 and Saban covering with Iowa +5.5.

The four misses were Herbstreit on Tulsa +7, Howard on Texas A&M +8.5, McAfee on Michigan State +5.5 and Rece Davis on Western Michigan +7.5.

My Week 5 College Football Best Bets

I have three on the card this week, a home underdog, a road favorite and a total. New customers can grab the current BetMGM promo code first.

Ohio State vs Iowa Prediction: Hawkeyes +14

  • My Pick: Iowa +14 (-108 at BetMGM)

Ohio State is scoring 45 points per game, so I’m not calling for an upset here. Iowa is allowing 8, and the total sits at 45.5.

Two touchdowns is a lot of cushion in a game the market expects to stay that low. Jeremiah Smith is the blowout risk after 12 catches for 217 yards and four touchdowns against Illinois, but I’ll take the points at Kinnick.

Florida vs Missouri Pick: Gators -5.5

  • My Pick: Florida -5.5 (-108 at BetMGM)

Florida just put 52 on Ole Miss and ran for 302 yards with six rushing touchdowns. Jadan Baugh has 600 rushing yards and 11 scores through four games.

Missouri has the arm to hang around. Austin Simmons has thrown for 947 yards with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions. The letdown spot is the obvious worry, but I’ll lay under a touchdown with the more balanced team.

BYU vs TCU Best Bet: Under 47.5

  • My Pick: BYU-TCU Under 47.5 (-105 at BetMGM)

TCU has had real trouble keeping its quarterback clean, and the run game has not given the Horned Frogs an easy way out of those spots. That combination tends to stall drives rather than produce points.

BYU is the other half of it. The Cougars have the line play to grind out possessions and control the pace, which keeps the snap count down for both sides.

I’d play this to 47.5 and pass below 47.
