Odds to Replace Hansi Flick at Bayern Munich: Nagelsmann and Klopp Top Favorites
- With Hansi Flick leaving Bayern Munich, the Bavarians are now looking for a new gaffer to lead the German and European champions
- Many names are on the Bayern Munich shortlist but few with pair with the stature, tactics and position of the club in not just German football but all of Europe
- Currently, RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann is favored to take the job with odds of -150
As a European Super League is stirring up drama all around the football landscape, Bayern Munich have a bit of drama of their own. After a falling out with Bayern Munich’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic over the club’s transfer policy and squad management, Hansi Flick is terminating his contract. At any club of this size, there is organizational management and politics at play that make it extremely difficult for anybody to succeed in the long term.
Nonetheless, Hansi Flick won everything there was to win at Bayern Munich, including their sixth Champions League trophy. Flick is now off to bigger and better things as he is already in talks with Germany to become their next national team manager. With Flick leaving Bayern Munich in the dust, the German giants now begin their search for the next caretaker of the club. Julian Nagelsmann is the favorite to land the job, but pulling him away from the Leipzig setup will be no easy task.
Furthermore, for some incoherent reason, Jurgen Klopp is also atop the odds charts as a favorite. A more likely result would be Jose Mourinho who coincidentally lost his job at Tottenham on Monday as well. Other dark horses in the race to become Bayern Munich’s next manager include former Juventus gaffers Massimiliano Allegri and Maurizio Sarri.

Jurgen Klopp Is the First “No Chance” on List
Firstly, while many names sound good to be the next Bayern Munich manager, we can use process of elimination to get rid of one of the top favorites. Jurgen Klopp has absolutely no chance to be the next manager in Munich for a multitude of reasons. To start, he is adamant about not leaving Liverpool until his contract is done. Additionally, he has stated several times he is taking a year sabbatical after he is done with Liverpool. Finally, did I not mention the fact he coached one of their biggest rivals for seven years and cannot stand the politics of a club like Bayern Munich?

Meanwhile, a better guess to be the next Bayern manager would be Julian Nagelsmann. He is already stated to be Bayern’s first choice and is already familiar with the German football setup. Nagelsmann has proved himself over the past few years and surely could lead a Bayern Munich team with so many resources at their disposal.
Allegri Is a Great Dark Horse for this Job
Next, Massimiliano Allegri is probably the next best choice for Bayern if they cannot land Nagelsmann. Allegri has been out of Juventus for almost two years and surely will be keen on taking another big managerial job soon.
In addition to Julian Nagelsmann, Massimiliano Allegri has also emerged as a possible candidate to replace Hansi Flick. Allegri is particularly appreciated by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge for his experience, flexibility, pragmatism and especially for his winning DNA [@sportmediaset] pic.twitter.com/yalQcnUBlu

His winning percentage in Italy was 70.48%, while also managing to win four separate Serie A Manager of the Year awards. The Italian has not taken a job since, and Bayern Munich would be lucky to have him.
Best Bet for Bayern Munich’s Next Manager
The best bet to be the next manager of Bayern Munich is Allegri with odds of +800. This bet has tremendous value and comes down to Nagelsmann not taking a glamour job over his current role at Leipzig or even a new one at a club like Tottenham. Allegri’s persona and managerial style would fit in Munich and he obviously knows how to manage big-name players.
Pick: Massimiliano Allegri (+800)
