DraftKings Is One of Three Sportsbooks Launching in Connecticut
DraftKings received approval from the US Department of the Interior earlier this week to open their retail sportsbook at the Foxwoods Casino. They won’t be alone in the emerging Connecticut sports betting market, as two other betting brands have signed official partnerships to gain market access:
Connecticut Sportsbook Partnerships
- DraftKings Sportsbook and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe (Owners of Foxwoods Casino)
- FanDuel Sportsbook and the Mohegan Tribe (Owners of Mohegan Sun Casino)
- Rush Street Interactive and the Connecticut State Lottery (SugarHouse Connecticut)
The Connecticut State Lottery is currently considering a number of locations for their flagship retail sportsbook. One venue under consideration is the XL Center in Hartford, the former home of the NHL’s Hartford Whalers and current rink for the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, a minor-league affiliate for the New York Rangers.

While the DraftKings Sportsbook retail location at Foxwoods will open on September 30, online sports betting will go-live across Connecticut on October 7. Retail sports betting locations make for some great memories, but mobile apps give you the power to wager from the comfort of your couch.
