Provo has waited a long time for this one. Notre Dame is 6-0, BYU is 5-0, and LaVell Edwards Stadium hosts the first top-10 game in its history Saturday night.
College GameDay broadcasts from The Lawn at Heritage Halls on the BYU campus, not from the stadium. BYU legend and Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young guest picks before a 7:30 PM ET kickoff on ABC.
Below you’ll find the College GameDay Week 7 picks tracker, Saturday’s featured games and my betting card.
College GameDay Week 7 Location, Time & Guest Picker
Davis hosts the GameDay set alongside Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban. The rest of the college football slate is loaded too, with six ranked-versus-ranked games and rivalries in Knoxville, Athens and Miami Gardens.
College GameDay Picks Today: Week 7 Crew Predictions
The crew’s straight-up College GameDay picks are pending until the final segment. The matchup list below is preliminary, and I’ll add any games the panel puts on the board once it airs.
Week 7 College GameDay Superdog Picks
Superdogs are GameDay picks against the spread, a separate bet from the straight-up winners above. These selections are pending until the segment runs.
How the Week 6 GameDay Picks Finished
Nobody finished above .500 on their College GameDay picks last week, and Howard took the worst of it at 4-7.
Herbstreit did not pick Georgia-Alabama, which is why his total shows 10 selections. The Superdogs made up for it at 4-1-1, with covers from Stanford Steve, Saban, Howard and Herbstreit.
My own card went 1-2 against the spread. Indiana won 20-17 but could not cover -7.5, and Texas lost outright 27-24 as a 7.5-point favorite. UCLA bailed me out with a 17-15 win at Oregon.
College GameDay Week 7 Odds for My Three Games
Here are the spreads and totals I’m working from. Compare the rest of Saturday’s college football odds across the board.
My Week 7 College Football Best Bets
Two home underdogs and one road underdog this week, all tied to the exact numbers below. New customers can check the current BetMGM promo code before placing a college football bet.
Ohio State vs Indiana Prediction: Hoosiers +3
- My Pick: Indiana +3 (-111 at BetMGM)
Indiana is 6-0 with the nation’s longest active winning streak at 22 games. The Hoosiers have tied or won the turnover battle in 30 straight games, which is how an underdog stays inside one possession.
Ohio State is 5-1 and deserves to be favored, but this is the first top-five game ever played at Memorial Stadium. A full field goal at home is the best number on my card, and I’d pass below +3.
Notre Dame vs BYU Pick: Cougars +11
- My Pick: BYU +11 (-111 at BetMGM)
BYU is 5-0 and running for 223.8 yards per game behind a line on the Joe Moore Award midseason honor roll. That ground game can shorten the night and cut down Notre Dame’s possessions in the GameDay feature game.
The Irish defense is the problem, allowing 11.0 points and 214.2 yards per game. Even so, asking an unbeaten top-10 home team to lose by 11 is a lot, and I’ll take anything at +10 or better.
Oklahoma State vs Houston Best Bet: Cowboys +4.5
- My Pick: Oklahoma State +4.5 (-108 at BetMGM)
Oklahoma State brings the country’s sixth-ranked passing offense at 322.4 yards per game against a Houston pass defense ranked 118th. That is the clearest way to trade scores in a game carrying a 62.5 total.
Houston runs for 230.0 yards per game against a Cowboys defense giving up 149.0, so the Cougars will get theirs. I just think this stays close enough, and +4 is my cutoff.
