The big number is not a surprise. Michigan (12-0) was #3 in the last CFP rankings and upset #2 Ohio State 45-23 on the road Saturday while Purdue (8-4) is unranked.
The over/under is 48.5 points in a game that will be played at 8:00 p.m. ET Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. It will be televised by Fox.

Michigan Rolls in Columbus
Five of Michigan’s six touchdowns were at least 45 yards as it beat Ohio State to clinch the East Division title.
Donovan Edwards, subbing for an injured Blake Corum, had scoring runs of 75 and 85 yards in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. He finished with 216 yards on 22 carries.
Cornelius Johnson caught TD passes covering 69 and 75 yards. He wound up with four receptions for 160 yards.

J.J. McCarthy completed 12 of 24 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns and also rushed for a score. Prior to Saturday, his longest completion of the season was 42 yards.
Michigan finished its first perfect regular season in Big Ten play since winning all eight conference games in 1991. The Wolverines’ last undefeated regular season came in 1971.
Purdue Wins, Gets Help
Iowa was in position to win the West Division but was upset at Nebraska on Friday. That gave Purdue an opening and it took advantage by beating Indiana 30-16 on Saturday on the road.
Aidan O’Connell shined for the Boilermakers as he threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns while completing 18 of 29 attempts.
Running back Devin Mockobee amassed 157 yards of total offense. He carried 15 times for 99 yards and a score while also notching five receptions for 58 yards.
Charlie Jones hauled in four passes for 143 yards and a score. Charlie Trice returned an interception for a touchdown.

Purdue won the Old Oaken Bucket, emblematic of its in-state rivalry with the Hoosiers. The Boilermakers also made it back-to-back eight-win seasons for the first time since 1997 and 1998
Keep an Eye on Corum
Corum left the game early for the second week in a row because of a knee injury. While Edwards filled in quite capably despite having a hand injury himself, Corum is one of the best running backs in the country.
His +1400 Heisman Trophy odds are a testament to Corum’s importance to the Michigan offense. Corum has 1,463 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns on 247 carries.
History Favors Michigan
Michigan has won four straight games against Purdue, though the teams haven’t met since 2017.
The Wolverines are also the defending Big Ten champions after rolling over Iowa 42-3 in last year’s title game. Purdue hasn’t won the conference since 2000 and has never appeared in the championship game, which was instituted in 2011.
Movement on the Line?
At 15.5 points, Michigan is a substantial favorite. However, it would not be a surprise to see the line go higher, especially in the wake of the Wolverines’ convincing win over Ohio State.
Michigan is a national brand and Purdue is not. That also tends to influence the odds.
