In the least surprising news of all time, PornHub's traffic has gone up while millions of people are forced to stay at home during the coronavirus outbreak.
  • Will Pornhub get over 3 billion visits in March?
  • Will a quarter of America frequent this pornographic website?
  • Check out the odds and my thorough analysis below!

COVID-19 and Pornhub have become quite the unusual tag team. The website has offered free premium content to those in Italy affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is not the only tie the two have, though, as the coronavirus pandemic has created a spike in overall visits, so much so that there are now betting props surrounding the growth patterns on Pornhub relating to coronavirus.

Before the outbreak, around 120 million people were visiting Pornhub on a daily basis, making it the 38th-most visited website globally. The number has been growing decidedly larger lately (phrasing).

COVID-19 Pornhub Odds

Prop Over/Under Over Odds Under Odds
Pornhub Global Rank for March 2020 8.5 -130 -110
Pornhub Total Visits for March 2020 3 Billion +100 -140
Pornhub US rank for March 2020 6.0 -160 +120
Pornhub US traffic percentage on March 31st 25% +160 -210

Odds taken on Mar. 17.

Pornhub’s worldwide traffic was reportedly 5.7% higher than normal for Wednesday. Many are crediting people working remotely due to coronavirus as the main cause.

The spikes and drops at certain times of day are telling. The number of viewers around 8:00 AM is lower because many who have to get up early for a work commute are now sleeping in. The number of viewers late at night (i.e. 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM) have seen gigantic spikes in users.

This further underscores the idea of disrupted schedules creating different porn viewership rates at varying times. There were also several notable traffic spikes at various times throughout the afternoon, times people would ordinarily be working, but are currently jerking.

On an international level, some of the places most affected by coronavirus have seen the most pronounced spikes in Pornhub visits (i.e. Italy).

COVID-19 Has Become a Pornhub Search

There’s also a notable number of people searching “COVID-19” and “Coronavirus” on Pornhub directly. There are also apparently some pretty concise porn videos that offer up genuinely useful PSAs on how to stay safe, mitigate risk, and maintain personal health in these times.

This isn’t an isolated instance; in the past, Pornhub has been generous towards social initiatives. Cleaning the world’s most polluted beaches and planting trees to help the environment are but a couple of examples of efforts that Pornhub had a hand in.

When it comes to best bets, Pornhub reported 42 billion visits through 2019, which leads me to believe that it will go over 3 billion this month. I still think it benefits to go with the under on the global rank, though, as I don’t see the site quite reaching the top-eight worldwide.

The metrics available suggest that US traffic is not quite at the level where I think betting the under makes sense. In the latest article on COVID-19 Pornhub insights, the United States ranks near the bottom in terms of increased growth in pornographic viewing.

Pick: Pornhub Global Rank for March 2020: Over 8.5 Global Rank (-110)

Pick: Pornhub Total Visits for March 2020: Over 3 Billion (+100)

Pick: Pornhub US rank for March 2020: Over 6 (-160)

Pick: Pornhub US traffic percentage on March 31st: Under 25% (-210)
