During the 2016 Republican Primaries, Marco Rubio asked a Florida crowd, “Can this country afford to have a president under investigation by the FBI?”

The crowd shouted back, “No!”

Around that same time, Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s campaign manager, tweeted: Most honest people I know are not under FBI investigation, let alone two.

Of course, they were both referring to Hillary Clinton. But in a recent testimony to the House Intelligence Community, FBI Director James Comey revealed for the first time that the FBI is currently investigating whether Donald Trump or the Trump Campaign colluded with Russia to interfere with the 2016 Presidential Election.

Comey also commented on Trump’s claim that Barack Obama ordered the wiretapping of Trump tower, stating that there is no information to support the claim.

Since winning the election, the Trump administration has been plagued with allegations of Russian ties. Michael Flynn was forced to resign after secretly meeting with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak and lying about the conversation; Jeff Sessions was forced to recuse himself from any Russia-related investigations after he falsely testified to having “no communications with the Russians”; and Paul Manafort was fired after it was found that he received millions of dollars in cash from Viktor Yanukovich, the (pro-Russia) former president of Ukraine.

And it doesn’t end there. Trump has hit back at the allegations by labeling it “FAKE NEWS”, but with the FBI now confirming they are investigating him and his campaign, it’s become a lot harder for Trump to simply dismiss the allegations.

The FBI is convinced the DNC hacks were the result of a state-sponsored hacking campaign by the Kremlin, and there was a clear attempt to sway the election against Clinton in favor of Trump. But whether the Trump campaign was involved remains unknown.

We’ll definitely be hearing more about this in the near-future, and the story seems to be developing by the day. So strap in folks, we’re in for a wild ride!

For now, here are the odds regarding the FBI investigation into Trump and his campaign.
