Matt Kuchar Worth a Wager

With a field like this, which is chalk full of solid golfers but very little elite star power, someone of Matt Kuchar’s ilk stands a tremendous chance of winning for the third time in less than a year.

While he has struggled a little bit of late with his game, Kuchar presents the best value of the top players on the board because the three guys in front of him (Schauffele, Casey and Reed) just aren’t sporting juicy odds whatsoever. This tournament is so wide open and up in the air I’d almost rather wait to see how everyone has done after one or two rounds and then pounce once there’s some value.

Rory Sabbatini Worth a Look

43-year old Rory Sabbatini has had a career rebirth this year, posting his best season on the PGA Tour since 2011, and while his +2500 odds don’t jump off the page, you’re still getting relatively good value based on how well he’s played. With five top-6 finishes stateside this year, you can do a whole lot worse than betting on Sabbatini this week.

2019 Porsche European Open Best Value Picks

  1. Matthias Schwab (+2800): Coming off back to back strong finishes (T-5th & T-8th) sandwiched between three missed cuts and another T-3rd finish. Six top-10’s on the European Tour this season.
  2. Renato Paratore (+6600): Quietly posted four solid events in a row, highlighted by last week’s T-12th at the Omega European Masters.
  3. Zander Lombard (+15000): Deep dive with upside. Posted respectable T-11 and T-16 showings within the last month.
