How Many Balls Will Find the Water on 17?

In the last five years, 45 or more balls have found the lake four times on the 17th hole, with the 36 in 2016 being the lone exception. This follows an opposite pattern where five of six years there were less than 44 balls into the drink.

Balls to Find Water on 17th Hole

Year Balls in Water
2019 45
2018 53
2017 69
2016 36
2015 45

With the line set at over 43.5 balls in the water (-120), this one is unsurprisingly close, given that both last year and 2015 there 45 balls to find a watery grave. The weather is supposed to be sunny with some cloudy periods for all four days, with the highest wind gusts being just 17 miles per hour, which obviously makes things easy for players to control their golf ball. Take the extra value given how close this one is.

Pick: Under 43.5 balls in water on 17 (+100)

Seagulls Can Make You Money

The video is an all-time classic, with Steve Lowery in 1998 thinking he’d hit the 17th green in regulation to avoid an aqua disaster. However, what happened next was absolute gold, where a seagull took his ball in his mouth and promptly dropped the ball into the lake.

The betting line for it happening again at the famed 17th hole is set and it presents a potential massive payday. Why not bet on some fun happening? How incredible would it be if it happened and you’d make mega money, with the line being +12500.

Pick: Seagull to pick up ball off 17th green (+12500)

Amazingly, in the 46-year history of this prestigious championship, there has only ever been five playoffs, though there has been three in the last twelve events.

Given that the final three holes can create such wild fireworks, it is more than a mild surprise at the lack of playoffs at this tournament historically. With that said, take the safer bet on this one.
