Circa Sports Eyes Early 2027 Arizona Sports Betting Launch

• The Arizona Department of Gaming awarded Circa Sports an event wagering license
• The department put out a call for applications in late June
• Circa Sports will partner with the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe for access into the state

Circa Sports will soon enter its seventh state for sports betting.

The Arizona Department of Gaming today announced it has awarded an event wagering operator license to Circa Sports Arizona LLC, the official partner of the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe for market access into the state. An Arizona Department of Gaming spokesperson confirmed with Sports Betting Dime this was the only license application submitted to the department.

The department opened an application window for Arizona online sports betting licenses in late June.

Circa Sports Eyes Early 2027 Launch

Jeffrey Benson, director of operations for Circa Sports, told Sports Betting Dime the online sports betting operator is looking to launch in Arizona in early 2027.

“We’re thrilled to have been allocated the Arizona event wagering license in partnership with the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe. Circa Sports looks forward to offering Arizona bettors the same high-limit, transparent, customer-first experience we’ve built our reputation on. We’ll continue working closely with the Arizona Department of Gaming on the path to launch but are targeting go live in early 2027,” he told Sports Betting Dime.

This will be the seventh live state for Circa Sports to offer sports betting, most recently launching in Missouri on Dec. 1, 2025. The Missouri Gaming Commission awarded its first two sports betting licenses to DraftKings and Circa Sports.

Circa Sports is currently live in the following states:

• Nevada
• Colorado
• Illinois
• Iowa
• Kentucky
• Missouri

Soon-To-Be 13 Live Operators

The Arizona Department of Gaming opened its license application process on June 26 and closed the window on Friday, July 10. The 2021 legislation legalizing the Arizona sports betting market allows for a maximum of 20 event wagering operator licenses, with 10 reserved for Arizona tribes and another 10 for Arizona sports franchises.

Circa Sports will be the 13th live online sports betting operator in the state. These are the 12 licensed operators and their partners in the Grand Canyon State:

• FanDuel (Phoenix Suns)
• Hard Rock Digital (Navajo Nation)
• PENN/theScore Bet (Phoenix Raceway)
• Plannatech/betcris (San Carlos Apache Tribe)
• RSI/BetRivers (Arizona Rattlers)

Sporttrade and Golden Nugget both held event wagering licenses in Arizona, but are no longer in operation in the state.

According to the Arizona Department of Gaming, since the inception of sports betting in the state in 2021, customers have bet $35.3 billion, generating approximately $190.6 million in event wagering privilege fees for the state.
