He’s 0-5 with a 5.14 ERA over his last seven starts. Take it back to his past 15 starts and Plesac is 1-7 with a 4.50 ERA. His last win was on June 5.

In two starts against Detroit this season, Plesac is 0-1 with a 3.72 ERA. However, in nine career starts against the Tigers, Plesac is 4-2 with a 2.25 ERA.

Plesac vs Hill Stats

In his MLB debut on July 4, Tigers right-hander Garrett Hill beat Plesac and the Guardians 4-1. He allowed two hits and one earned run over six innings of work.

Since then . . . well, let’s just say it hasn’t been going as swimmingly. Hill went 0-3 the rest of July. He’s allowed 17 earned runs over his past 25.2 innings on the mound. That’s a 5.96 ERA.

Hill did turn it around in his last start, though. Working 5.2 innings of six-hit ball, Hill allowed one earned run and got the decision in a 9-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.

At Comerica Park, he’s been a much better pitcher. Hill is 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA in three home starts.

While Plesac has stymied Detroit’s stars, he’s proven much less successful against several other Tigers. Rookie Riley Greene is 2-for-5 (.400) with a homer and three RBI. Fellow rookie Kody Clemens is 1-for-3 (.333). Will Castro is 7-for-15 (.467) with two RBI. Victor Reyes is 3-for-9 (.333).

Guardians vs Tigers Prediction

Cleveland is seeking a sweep of Detroit and to extend the club’s winning streak to six games. They’ll also be looking for their sixth straight win over the Tigers. They’ll also be looking to get their road record this season back to .500.

However, Hill is clearly a different pitcher on his home hill. He’s beaten Plesac and the Guardians once already this season. The Tigers are 2-1 SU at home with Hill on the bump.
