Milwaukee vs St. Louis Probable Pitchers
Adrian Houser (3-4, 2.98) is scheduled to start for the Brewers against rookie left-hander Matthew Liberatore (0-0, 7.71). Houser will be pitching on four days rest and Liberatore on six days.
Houser vs Liberatore
3-4 | Record | 0-0 |
2.98 | ERA | 7.71 |
3.58 | xERA | 8.40 |
1.28 | WHIP | 1.93 |
1.84 | SO/W | 1.50 |
Houser is 0-2 in his last three starts despite a fine 2.25 ERA. He had a no-decision against the Padres on Monday in San Diego even though he gave up only one run and three hits in six innings while striking out four and walking two.
Maybe he could back up Aaron Rodgers, too.
Why does Adrian Houser warm up with a 🏈 ? Not just because it’s Sunday…

In 12 career games (nine starts) against the Cardinals, Houser has a 4-3 record and 2.25 ERA. He is 3-2 with a 3.70 ERA in seven games (five starts) at Busch Stadium.
Houser is 1-2 with a 4.12 ERA in four road starts in 2022. In the day, he is 2-2 with a 5.79 ERA in four starts.
Corey Dickerson is 3-for-9 with two doubles against Houser but Harrison Bader is just 2-for-14 (.143).
Liberatore will be making his second start following a rocky major league debut last Saturday when he faced the Pirates in Pittsburgh. Liberatore did not factor in the decision while working 4.2 innings and allowing four runs, seven hits and two walks and striking out three.

In seven starts with Triple-A Memphis to start the season, Liberatore went 3-3 with a 3.83 ERA. The 22-year-old was rated as the 43rd-best prospect in baseball entering the season by MLB.com.
Brewers vs Cardinals Betting Outlook
Paul Goldschmidt extended his hitting streak to 18 with a two-run home run in the third innings and lifted the Cardinals over the Brewers on Friday night. He has also been on base in 31-straight games, the longest streak in the major league this season.

Bader stole two bases for the Cardinals, raising his total to NL-best 13. He has been successful on 16 consecutive steal attempts dating back to last season.
Keston Hiura hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning to prevent the Brewers from being shut out.
Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina got Friday off in night game before a day game but should return Saturday.
Brewers center fielder Lorenzo Cain was on the bench Friday after going 4-for-26 in his previous eight games.
Milwaukee fans are down on Cain.
I will always love Lorenzo Cain but he should be no more than a pinch runner and clubhouse guy at this point, he should never pick up a bat again.

The teams have split six games this season, including two at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals hold a modest 29-25 edge in the series since the start of the 2019 season.
