White Sox vs Tigers Probable Pitchers

Rookie Jesse Scholtens (0-2, 2.25) is expected to pitch for the White Sox against Michael Lorenzen (2-2, 4.08). Both will be working on four days of rest.

Scholtens vs Lorenzen

Scholtens will be making his first career start following three relief appearances.

On Monday at Cleveland, he allowed only one run on two hits in five innings as the bulk reliever but took the loss against the Guardians. He struck out one and walked two.

This will be Scholtens’ first time facing the Tigers.

All three of Scholtens’ appearances have come on the road. The lone time he has pitched in the day was in his major-league debut on April 7 when he gave up one run in three innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Lorenzen followed three quality starts by getting touched for five runs in 5.2 innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Royals in Kansas City. He surrendered five hits while striking out five and walking two.

Lorenzen has a 1-0 career record against the White Sox with a 3.63 ERA in six games (three starts).
