Yankees vs Angels Betting Trends

Shohei Ohtani lifted the Angels to victory Monday night by hitting a two-run home run in the fifth inning that snapped a 2-2 tie.

Ohtani, Mike Trout, Mike Ford and Matt Thaiss each had two hits for the Angels. Ford and Rengifo hit solo homers.

Angels infielder Matt Duffy (back) was activated from the injured list before the game. Infielder/outfielder Josh Rojas was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Right fielder Taylor Ward was reinstated from the restricted list along with left-handed reliever Aaron Loup and right-handed reliever Ryan Tepera. All three missed the three-game sweep of the Blue Jays in Toronto over the weekend because they are unvaccinated and were unable to enter Canada.

The Yankees’ Aaron Judge hit his 50th home run of the season, a solo blast in the eighth inning that drew New York within a run. He became the 10th player in MLB history to have multiple 50-homer seasons.

Anthony Rizzo also went deep for the Yankees.

In the AL MVP odds, Judge is the favorite at -1000 and Ohtani is the second choice at +650.

The Yankees activated All-Star reliever Clay Holmes from the injured list before the game and he pitched a scoreless inning. Holmes had been out with lower left back spasms.

Utility player Marwin Gonzalez will miss the rest of the series after being placed on the paternity list. Outfielder Tim Locastro was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The Yankees lead the season series 3-1 and are 46-28 against the Angels since 2011.
