- Henry Cejudo called out Valentina Shevchenko
- Shevchenko responded she’s open to a match
- See the odds for the potential fight
Henry Cejudo is embracing his ‘King of Cringe’ role as after Valentina Shevchenko beat Liz Carmouche at UFC Uruguay, he called her out for an inter-gender fight. It is a part of his schtick to play the villain, yet some are taking this seriously that it could happen. Now, Bovada has released odds on a potential fight.

What are the chances this fight happens?
It seems ludicrous that Cejudo-Shevchenko even has odds for a fight. However, the ‘King of Cringe’ has been on a tirade saying he wants every belt in the UFC and wants to continue making history. So, when Shevchenko beat Carmouche, who happens to fight at 125-pounds, the same weight class Cejudo holds a belt in, he decided this was his shot. So, the Olympic gold medalist called for an inter-gender fight in a video posted to twitter.

It caught the attention of many in the MMA community where many thought nothing of it, other than it was classic Cejudo antics. Yet, Shevchenko responded and it started to stir the pot as if the two are going to fight.

Even with the two lobbing shots at one another, it seems highly unlikely for this fight to happen. The gender is obviously something the commission has never allowed, but UFC president Dana White even said it is one of the dumbest things he has ever heard.
“That’s the wackiest shit I’ve ever heard,” White said to MMA Junkie. “It’s just f*****g crazy that Henry would say that. But Valentina would probably do it. I don’t even know how to respond to that or what to say other than ‘wow.’ “I can’t even f*****g wrap my brain around that, why he would say that. “It’s just crazy, but … what are you gonna do?”
I can’t stress this enough, but this fight will never happen, and everyone is doing what Cejudo wanted by keeping his name in the news cycle.
There is no point on betting this fight but if you were to lay some money down, why not play the underdog in Shevchenko at +650 and see if she could shut Cejudo up both in and outside the octagon.
Let's have fun and keep it civil.
