  • KSW 47 takes place Saturday, March 23rd at Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland
  • Thomasz Narkun has an opportunity to become a dual division champion
  • The card also features former World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski

KSW 47 goes live from Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland this weekend. The card has a little something for everyone including a co-main event bout between Heavyweight leviathans Szymon Kolecki and former World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski.

Notable names fill out the card like UFC vet Norman Parke and Bellator alum/veteran of the Japanese circuit Satoshi Ishii. The main event has champ champ implications though, and slots the Light-Heavyweight champion into the challenger role against the defending Heavyweight champion.

Check out the main card prediction and KSW 47 event odds below.

KSW 47: Narkun vs De Fries Odds

Fighters Odds
Tomasz Narkun -165
Phil De Fries +135

*Odds taken 03/20/19

Tomasz Narkun and Phil De Fries is the KSW permutation of the trend in the MMA world of sitting divisional kings competing against one another. UFC/Bellator vet De Fries has one defense under his belt already, but he now faces one of the most formidable tests he has had in years.

Narkun is stepping up from 205 lbs for this fight and he’s not even a particularly big Light-Heavyweight. Narkun’s last loss was over four years ago and he avenged that L shortly after in devastating fashion in bouts with Goran Reljic.

Phil is the larger man, has fought against guys like Stipe Miocic, and has finishing abilities that are evident. Still, I see the more tactical Narkun using his speed to garner the win.

Both men have 12 submissions in 16 wins so this could lead to several compelling scrambles and grappling exchanges in this KSW 47 main event.

De Fries has a variety of choke based finishes and a key lock W in his last fight. Narkun has a diverse Jiu Jitsu game with wins coming via triangle, rear naked, knee bar, and arm bar. Narkun has an interesting challenge in front of him as De Fries has never been submitted before in MMA competition.

I’m not a hundred percent confident that Narkun can finish De Fries via submission, but I have Narkun all day in this fight. I had heard of Narkun for a bit, but after doing live play-by-play results for his last fight against Khalidov, I’m convinced he’s the real deal.

Past training partners like Gegard Mousasi have echoed those sentiments about Giraffe. I visualize Tomasz Narkun hoisting two KSW belts above his head as KSW 47 goes off the air.

Pick: Narkun (-165)
