  • Adesanya is a -290 favorite, but is there a better way to get value on him?
  • Let’s take a look at a full UFC 271 betting preview, along with our best prop bets

The UFC returns to the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas for the third time since May of last year, with the middleweight title up for grabs. The main event sees Israel Adesanya take on Robert Whittaker as they run their fight from 2019 back. Derrick Lewis, meanwhile, returns to face fellow KO artist Tai Tuivasa in the co-main event. UFC 271 props are available at DraftKings, and more online sportsbooks, with a few lines offering great value.

We’ve already broken down the UFC 271 odds and found value on some fighters. That being said, let’s dive deeper into a UFC 271 betting preview where we look at our best UFC prop bets for the card.

UFC 271 Props & Picks – Total Rounds Odds

Matchup Total Rounds Over Odds Under Odds
Adesanya vs Whittaker 4.5 -125 -105
Lewis vs Tuivasa 1.5 +130 -160
Cannonier vs Brunson 2.5 -115 -115
Phillips vs Rojo 2.5 +135 -165
Green vs Haqparast 2.5 -255 +190

All odds as of Feb. 11 at DraftKings

Bobby Green vs Nasrat Haqparast have the worst odds to go over 2.5 rounds at -255 in the UFC 271 props at DraftKings Sportsbook. Cannonier-Brunson is a pure pick’em on if it goes over 2.5 rounds while the over 4.5 rounds is slightly juiced in the Adesanya-Whittaker fight.

Cannonier vs Brunson Under 2.5 Rounds

If you read the UFC 271 preview you know I’m on Jared Cannonier, and if he wins, it will likely be in the first or second round by KO. However, by taking the under, you are also covered should Brunson be able to take Cannonier down. That is, if he finds the ground and pound TKO or submission, which he has been doing in his last couple of fights.

Although Cannonier went the distance against both Kelvin Gastelum and Robert Whittaker, those two fighters are as durable as they come at middleweight. But, Brunson’s chin is a worry as three of his last four losses have come by KO in the first round.

Take the under 2.5 rounds in Cannonier vs Brunson at -115 as one of your UFC 271 bets. The under 2.5 is at -134 at FanDuel, so take the DraftKings number before that goes up as well. Bettors can also grab Cannonier by KO/TKO at +120 at both FanDuel and DraftKings in their UFC 271 props list.

Pick: Cannonier vs Brunson Under 2.5 Rounds (-115)

UFC 271 Props – To Go The Distance Odds

Matchup Yes Odds No Odds
Adesanya vs Whittaker -120 -110
Lewis vs Tuivasa +350 -550
Cannonier vs Brunson +110 -150
Phillips vs Rojo +165 -225
Green vs Haqparast -190 +140

Green vs Haqparast Goes the Distance

Bobby Green surprised many last time out as he knocked out Al Iaquinta in the first round, which was the first time he didn’t go the distance in 10 fights, which was all the way back in 2017. However, that was more Iaquinta not being prepared as on his podcast he even said he quit in there, so take this fight to go the distance again.

As mentioned, in Green’s last 11 fights, 10 have gone the distance. Haqparast has gone the distance in six of his eight UFC fights and has gone all 15 minutes in his last three. Both men don’t have a ton of KO power or are a threat with submissions, so it should be a striking fight that goes the distance.

FanDuel presents better odds for Green-Haqparast to go the distance at its -166, so play it there as Barstool Sportsbook prices it at -190. Green to win by decision is also a good prop to play as it’s +190 on FanDuel.

Pick: Green-Haqparast Goes the Distance (+190)

Adesanya Wins by KO/TKO/DQ

The first time Israel Adesanya beat Robert Whittaker he won by second-round knockout, and if there was another 20 seconds in the first round, it would’ve been a first-round stoppage. This time around, I expect this fight to be more competitive and last longer, but I’m still backing Adesanya to win by KO/TKO.

In Adesanya’s last two fights he was disappointed in his performances as he said they were boring, so I expect him to go out there and show off. Whittaker will be patient in the first two rounds but as he begins to start losing the rounds he will rush into something and get caught. Although you still get plus-money at DraftKings, FanDuel has Adesanya by KO/TKO priced at +190 in their UFC 271 props, so grab the value there.

Pick: Israel Adesanya Wins by KO/TKO/DQ (+190) – FanDuel
