There are 12 NBA games taking place on Tuesday, April, 5th. Starting out with a couple of 7pm ET tip offs, the Sixers are 12-point favorites over the rebuilding Pacers and the Orlando Magic are hefty underdogs for their contest with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Miami, who has bounced back after a slump, is favored by 5.5 over a Charlotte team looking to break into the top eight. Brooklyn is expected to notch an easy win against the Rockets, and there’s an intriguing duel between the Hawks and Raptors north of the border. Three games start at 8pm ET, including the Milwaukee Bucks in Chicago to face the Bulls – the defending champions are 4.5-point favorites.  Aiming to claim a Play-In berth, the Spurs are on the road against the Nuggets, who got the better of the Lakers on Sunday night.

With Ja Morant still out, the Grizzlies are narrow underdogs for their game in Utah against the Jazz. The final two games of the night see the Pelicans face the Kings and the Lakers travel to Phoenix to matchup with the Suns.

Odds as of Apr 5th at FanDuel Sportsbook

He may not longer be the NBA MVP odds favorite, but Joel Embiid is still in pursuit of the scoring title, and he’s given the highest points line on Tuesday night at 33.5. Fellow MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo follows close behind, while reigning MVP Nikola Jokic has the highest rebounds mark at 14.5.

Embiid Chases Numbers

Joel Embiid has made no secret of his desire for awards. The Process has slipped in the MVP race over the last couple of weeks, and he will be well aware that his candidacy in the coming days depends on him putting up some massive numbers. Philly has the schedule for him to do just that.

Embiid dropped 44 on 26 shots against the Cavs last time out. He’s now facing a Pacers team which is already limited on size and could be without Goga Bitadze, who is listed as questionable. Embiid dominated a short-handed Cavaliers frontcourt a couple of days ago, and he will look to do the same on Tuesday against the tanking Pacers. Indiana is dead-last in defense over the last 10 games.

YouTube video

Ranking bottom ten in opponent free throws per game, we could see Embiid at the line 15+ times once again. The scoring title is within reach of the Cameroonian center, and he’s clearly motivated to go for it. He’s passed this points line in three of the last five.

Take the over here. This could well be a repeat performance of Embiid walking all over the Cavs.

  • Pick: Joel Embiid over 33.5 points (-110)

Giannis Repeats Dominance of Bulls

Only three teams have a worse rebounding rate than the Chicago Bulls since the break. Giannis Antetokoumpo has grabbed 33 rebounds over his last two games against Chicago.

The Bulls’ defense ranks in the bottom ten over the last couple of months. Their lack of size away from Nikola Vucevic is causing problems on the glass. While they’re not the only team that struggles against Antetokounmpo, he is a particularly difficult matchup for them, even with Patrick Williams healthy again.

Antetokounmpo has passed this line in three of his last four. He’s behind only Rudy Gobert and Nikola Jokic in rebounds per game across the previous ten. This line is on the low side given his recent production, and the over looks particularly favorable when taking his numbers against Chicago into account.

This could be worth betting the over on at 13.5. It represents great value at this price.

  • Pick: Giannis Antetokounmpo over 12.5 rebounds (-110)
