After a blowout win on Tuesday, the Memphis Grizzlies hit the road to face the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 3. The tip-off is set for 7:30pm ET at the Target Center. Read on for the Grizzlies vs Timberwolves odds.

The Grizz bounced back with authority in Game 2 with a huge 124-96 victory following a dismal loss in the series opener. For Minny, Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns stayed relatively quiet but they’ll be looking to feed off the home energy and show out on Thursday.

Grizzlies vs Timberwolves Odds

Memphis Grizzlies -1.5 (-114) -124 Ov 236.5 (-110)
Minnesota Timberwolves +1.5 (-108) +106 Un 236.5 (-110)

Memphis opened up as a slim 1.5-point road favorite, despite winning by 28 the other night. The under at 236.5 was also comfortably hit on Tuesday thanks to the Grizzlies’ stout defense and the Timberwolves’ offensive woes. This game can be seen on TNT.

Timberwolves Betting Analysis

Minnesota was firing on all cylinders in Game 1, with Edwards erupting for 36 points in his playoff debut while KAT dropped 29. Unfortunately, it was the exact opposite in Game 2.

Ant led the team with 20 points and Towns only registered 15 as the T-Wolves shot just 29% from three-point land and 40% from the field. This was essentially a contest where Chris Finch’s squad was overmatched in every single category.

They were outscored a whopping 60-34 in the paint and also committed 19 turnovers that translated into a whole 28 points for Memphis. Minny was the top-scoring offense in the league during the regular season but the squad simply didn’t come out to compete on Tuesday.

Aside from Edwards and Towns, who frankly had poor nights as well, there was little production from the rest of the rotation.

There is no question the Grizzlies tightened it up defensively, but the Timberwolves need to be a lot better with their shot selection. Also, they were bodied on the glass 48-40 and 14-4 on offensive rebounds.

Being able to make their presence felt down low from the get-go on Thursday will be massive in the outcome along with finding cleaner looks, especially from deep.

Grizzlies Betting Analysis

Now, this was the Memphis team we all got so used to seeing all season long. Taylor Jenkins’ group absolutely dominated in Game 2, with the entire roster doing their part.

By no surprise, Ja Morant led the charge with 23 points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists but he also received a ton of help from the supporting cast. Five others finished in double-figures as Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson also tallied 16 points each.

It would honestly be hard to find a flaw in how Memphis played on Tuesday. They controlled the boards, flourished with their scoring in the paint, and dished out a total of 29 assists which resulted in countless good looks at the hoop.

Their bench outscored Minnesota 60-43 as well. On both ends, the Grizz just looked tremendous and although it helps the Wolves took some questionable shots, Memphis deserves credit for their gritty, hard-nosed D.

Morant and Co. need to replicate this performance on the road and work together as a collective unit. Being able to slow down Edwards and KAT is crucial while forcing Minny, who typically thrives from downtown, to take tough looks. After all, this is a team that was first in the league with 14.8 three-point makes per game in the season. The perimeter defense must be on point again for Memphis.

Grizzlies vs Timberwolves Prediction

I don’t see the Grizzlies losing here. Yes, this is the playoffs, but they were 26-15 on the road during the regular season and looked far too good on Tuesday to bet against. With the spread at just 1.5, I have zero doubt Memphis will comfortably cover and take a 2-1 series lead.

Pick: Grizzlies -1.5 (-114)
