Almost the entire NBA will take the floor on Wednesday, March 9th as a total of 12 contests are on the docket across the Association. Other than the Heat hosting the shorthanded Suns as 7-point favorites, there aren’t many marquee matchups. However, there is no shortage of star power in action, which means there are numerous intriguing player props to put money on.

Nikola Jokic will be looking to continue his hot streak as the Denver Nuggets face the lowly Sacramento Kings, while Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks clash with the New York Knicks. It’s also a battle between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Trae Young as the Atlanta Hawks face the Milwaukee Bucks.

Tatum Keeps His Hot Streak Going

The Boston Celtics are one of the hottest teams in the league and franchise star Jayson Tatum’s play has them rising in the NBA Championship odds. The former Duke standout is putting together another fantastic campaign, averaging 26.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. While Tatum has had his ups and downs at times in 2021-22, he’s absolutely torching every opponent right now.

The 24-year-old showed out for a ridiculous 54 points on Sunday in just 41 minutes against the Brooklyn Nets as the C’s secured their third-straight victory. Tatum simply couldn’t be stopped.

Whether it was mid-range, getting to the hoop, or pulling up and draining a triple, he was in his bag. In fact, the All-Star has hit the over in three consecutive outings, also scoring 37 and 33 in the two games prior to Sunday’s showdown with Brooklyn. Boston is rolling and Tatum is leading by example.

On Wednesday, the Celtics face the Hornets. Although Tatum only scored 31 points combined in the last two games against Charlotte, he dropped 41 at the beginning of the season versus LaMelo Ball and Co. Given how he’s playing lately, scoring over 30 points here is definitely a realistic possibility.

  • Pick: Jayson Tatum Over 29.5 Points (-108)

Barrett Does it All for Knicks

The Knicks have been an utter disappointment this season after such a promising 2020-21 campaign. But, one clear bright spot is the play of Canadian guard RJ Barrett, who is averaging 19.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.9 dimes.

In fact, the third-year player out of Duke is truly doing it all lately, scoring at least 20 points in six straight games and dishing out just over five assists per night during that span.

That being said, it means he’s hit the over in points and dimes in all of these outings except for the 46-point performance where he only had two assists. Understandable, though. Julius Randle isn’t exactly playing at a high level this year despite a big night on Monday, which means Barrett has taken it upon himself to step up in more ways than one.

Considering how well RJ is scoring and playmaking right now, there’s a ton of value in the points+assists combined. He dropped 29 and notched six dimes on Monday in Sacramento. Also, the last time Barrett played the Mavs, who New York faces on Wednesday, he balled out for 32 points.

  • Pick: RJ Barrett Over 27.5 Points+Assists Combined (-111)
