Butler Continues to Ball Out

Perhaps the hottest player in these entire playoffs so far has been Heat star, Jimmy Butler. The veteran is averaging a mind-boggling 29 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.5 assists in eight games while also shooting 53% from the field. Miami looked extremely poor in the last two contests against Philly, with their three-point efficiency practically non-existent. However, Butler continued to thrive and have his way with the Sixers’ defense.

Jimmy Buckets went off for 40 points on Sunday night in the loss, with almost all of his damage either coming at the cup or from mid-range. The 32-year-old is in his zone right now and in order for the Heat to get out of this series, he needs to keep playing at a high level. Yes, the supporting cast must step up as well, but Butler is crucial to their success.

The over/under is set at 25.5 here. Butler has hit the over in back-to-back outings, also erupting for 33 points Game 3. He wasn’t as effective at FTX Arena in the first two games of this Eastern Conference semifinal, but given Butler’s recent brilliance, this is worth a bet.

  • Pick: Jimmy Butler Over 25.5 Points (-110)

Paul Gets Back to Dominant Ways

There isn’t a lot of evidence behind this one. It’s simply just based on how brilliant of a player Chris Paul really is. The Suns point guard was brutal in the last two games for Phoenix, collecting a total of 17 points combined and just 11 assists. In Game 4, CP3 even fouled out early in the fourth quarter and failed to get anything going.

This hasn’t been the same Paul we’ve all grown to know. He’s struggling to score and facilitate right now, but he is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. The Suns desperately need to bounce back in Game 5 and I do believe they will, with CP3 playing a vital part. He’s a mid-range assassin and the heartbeat of the Phoenix attack.

What I’m looking at here is the points+assists combined. He hit the over 25.5 in Game 3 and is averaging 19.8 points and nine dimes in 10 postseason appearances in 2022. Expect Paul to respond and do it all offensively.

  • Pick: Chris Paul Over 25.5 Points+Assists (+100)
